Skye laughed as she blocked Alek's thrust.
"You can do better than that." She danced away from his next strike and smiled when she saw the beads of sweat rising on his face.
"I will end you." He gasped and made a mad dash toward Skye.
"That will have to wait." Skye dodged the blind strike and smacked Alek as he rushed by with her light saber. She could hear his flesh sizzle as the low beam of her blade cut through his Padawan robes.
"Congratulations, Padawans Skye Sunfell and Alek Squinquargesimus." The voice of Master Zhar broke through Skye's triumph.
"Thank you, Master Zhar." Alek and Skye said and bowed in unison.
"But your spar wasn't perfect. Please relate to me how that is so." The orange Twi'lek looked down at the fifteen year olds. He looked to Alek first, as he had lost.
"I became to hasty with my attacks. Not thinking through and rushing blindly to attack." Alek stated with a bowed head.
"Yes. And you, Skye?" Zhar looked to the haughty female.
"I am too proud. I need to be humble and stop living for the fight." Skye looked into the combat master's eyes as she said this, with no humility at all.
"I see. Alek, you had best get that burn treated." Zhar had caught sight of how serious the wound actually was, blisters already rising and the red flesh shiny from contact with Skye's energy blade.
"Yes Master Zhar." Alek bowed again and Zhar bowed back, dismissing Alek.
"Skye, stay." Zhar called as Skye was about to help her friend to the healer. She stopped and turned back to him.
"Yes, Master Zhar?" She asked curiously.
"I need to discuss with you your attitude during combat. Your skills are exemplary, and you know it. Knowing this, you seem to be fearless, jumping into fights with little thought." Zhar wasn't angry, he was just stating what he saw in Skye.
"You said that knowing your limits are good." Skye didn't seem to interested.
"Yes, so you would not fall into a situation you could not prevent. You still give little thought to your own welfare and give into the thrill of the fight. That is something a Dark Jedi would do." Zhar lectured.
"I am not a Dark JedI though." Skye retorted, growing tired of this conversation.
"I wasn't saying you were. I was merely cautioning that too much joy of victory can lead down a Dark path." Zhar tried to explain, but Skye had already blocked him out.
"May I check on Alek? I fear I may have wounded him more severely than necessary." Skye changed the subject.
"You may." Skye bowed and Master Zhar bowed back, dismissing her.
