It had taken them a week of around the clock effort but they had finally managed to shield the Asgard power/data core so that they could use it without fear of attack from the Ori. SG1 had been given leave and each member was enjoying it in his or her own way. Samantha was catching up on paperwork, Teal'c was taking some of the Asgard technology to his people so they could protect themselves from the Ori, and Varla had somehow managed to drag Daniel away from his research for a night on the town, leaving Colonel Cameron Mitchell to his own devices. Needless to say, he was bored. With his teammates off doing their own thing and everyone else at the SGC hard at work Mitchell found himself wandering over to one of the computer that linked SGC with the Asgard core. There was something he was curious about but had never managed to ask. Namely, what did those little grey aliens do for fun?
He searched the data base for games and then read through the descriptions in the list. Not surprising the list was rather thin on physical games and leaned more towards mental skills. Then he saw something that he just could not believe. Daniel would probably explain it as a matter of parallel evolution, evidence of Asgard influence in human history, or even one heck of a coincidence it did have a completely different name after all, but the basic two paddle configuration was unmistakable. The Asgard played pong!
