A/N I just couldn't help myself.

Not mine.

Silence is Golden

The air in the car was heavy with silence. But not quite heavy enough to drown out the huffing from the passenger seat. He knew what he would see if he looked. Eyebrows drawn together. Lips pressed tight. He just hoped they would get back to the room before the huff turned into a breath. One that would break the precious silence...

"We should talk about this. You really hurt my feelings when you said..."

Too late.

His foot just about went through the floor when he hit the break. Drivers front wheel spinning on air where they slid to a stop.

"Are you shittin' me?", shot out of his mouth and before he could stop his head turned and there it was. In all it's indignant glory. Glaring at him in righteous anger. The Bitch!Face. And it dawned on him. He was brother-whipped!

As his hand scrambled for the door handle, he shouted, "Get out! Get the hell out of my car!". He all but ran to the trunk and threw it open. "What's his, what's his, what's his," he mumbled to himself as he shuffled things around.

"You can't just abandon me here!"

"I'm not abandoning you. I'm setting you free," he said as he closed the trunk. "Everything here is mine. The room's paid for the week. I'll get one somewhere else."

With that he turned and got back in the car. One hand dug around in the back seat and the other popped in a cassette. To the sweet sound of Cream he swung a sweeping U-turn and lobbed the IPod jack out the window. As he watched it bounce off the side of Sam's head, he drove back into town. There was an apocalypse coming, and he had yet to see the new Raiders movie. He planned on putting an end to that outrage. He'd missed out on enough.

Heaven could wait.
