Father's Day

"Happy Father's Day, Daddy! I love you," Aelita typed to her father.

"Thank you, sweetheart," He replied.

"I have to go meet up with the rest of the group. I'll talk to you later!"

"Okay. Goodbye for now!" Aelita shut down her light pink laptop and went to Odd and Ulrich's room, where the group was meeting.

"Hey, guys!" She greeted her friends when she walked into their dorm.

"Hey, Aelita!" The three boys, plus Yumi, replied. She sat down next to Jeremie on Ulrich's bed.

"Surprise!" He said, pulling out a folded sheet of paper. Aelita took it and opened it.

"What's this?" Aelita asked, confused.

"Read it and see for yourself," Jeremie answered. Aelita gave Jeremie a look that said, "what did you do this time," then slowly lowered her eyes to the paper. After a few seconds, her jaw nearly dropped to the floor.

"Jeremie, is… is this what I think it is?" She whispered.

"Yep. It's the program to materialize your father." Jeremie said. "I was up all night looking for it. The four of us were out shopping for our dads, but then we all started thinking of you, and how you couldn't see him, and it came to me that the best present we could give him is letting him see his daughter again. Plus, I thought you would love to see your dad. So I went on my computer and-" Jeremie was interrupted by Odd.

"Okay, Einstein, we all know that you're about go into some long explanation that only you and Aelita understand, so I'm just gonna cut you off right there."

"Whatever." Jeremie said, offended by Odd's rude interference.

"Oh, Jeremie! Thank you so much!" Aelita hugged him. When she released him, Jeremie took the paper and put it in his room.

"Let's go have breakfast. Then we'll come get the paper and head straight for the factory." The five teens headed toward the cafeteria, though Aelita didn't think she could eat because she was so excited.

The Lyoko Warriors slid down the ropes and got into the elevator as soon as they reached the factory. Jeremie got off at the lab floor, and the other four went down to the scanner room to wait for Franz Hopper.

About ten minutes later, they heard Jeremie shout, "materialization," and the elevator running. He came out and walked over to his friends.

After what felt like a lifetime, the scanner doors opened and the smoke cleared to reveal Franz Hopper.

"Daddy!" Aelita shouted. She ran over to the scanner and hugged her father.

"Hello, Aelita," her father said, embracing his daughter. They stayed like that for a few minutes, not even noticing the rest of the group leaving to give the two of them some time together.

"Thank you for materializing me, Aelita. I couldn't have asked for a better Father's Day present," Franz said to Aelita.

"Well, it was mostly Jeremie," Aelita said.

"But you've done so much to help him."

"True," Aelita said with a giggle. "Happy Father's Day, Dad. I love you."

"I love you too, sweetheart."
