The Hours

By: Javawolf

Author's Note: This is a rather bizarre piece I think. I feel I need to take this opportunity to make it absolutely clear of my intentional use of quotes, ideas, and naturally, the title from the book/movie The Hours. I actually think the book is called Mrs. Daleiway (sp?) By Virginia Woolf, but as I have only seen the film...

Well, pish-posh. Anywho read and review. Actually I don't really care if you read it, but you can review anyway. Just say you loved it. My sincere thanks.

"We're in a machine, the machine's going to be here long after our bodies are dust."

We'll have to fight. We've got to fight.

"The powerful control everything...except our will to chose."

A choice between good and evil? It's a bloody choice between life and death...

"Heros don't except the way the world is."

Heros are irrational...

"We can bring their gears to a grinding halt."

I can't...

"We don't walk away from that."

So it's death, then. His choice is death.

"So I need you to be sure."

Life or death? Evil or good? Weak or strong?

"We can't defeat them–but for one bright, shiny moment we can show them that they don't own us."

But someone has to die. Some one will have to die.

"You have to decide–for yourselves–if that's worth dying for."

But why does someone have to die?

"I can't order you to do this."

Damn right you can't.

"I can't do it with out you."

Someone has to die so that the rest of us can value life more...

"Think about what I'm asking you to do. Think about what I'm asking you to give..."

But who is it? Who has to die?

"Kill em all." He said. "Burn the house down while we're still in it."

"Something like that."

The poet. The poet has to die.

"I'm in."
