I don't own anything. You may want a few hankies for this… It's a very sad story… I ended up crying while writing it…
Alone… That was always the case for Mai. Nobody loves me… she would often think before she would cry. She never once thought that someone could give her the love and time she always wanted. The only thing to keep her company was a fat little doxin puppy.
She was rich, beautiful, but was never happy. From the time she was a small child; her parents ignored her. Mai never made friends in school; she was a shy and quiet girl who often just read romance novels in the back of the room or on the park bench. She one day made a wish. It was for the thing she never had growing up. A boyfriend who would love her, no matter what. That was many years ago.
She's now only 24. Mai made a living through playing as a dealer in casinos or on ships with rich men; whichever came first. Since she was constantly getting hit on by older dudes or sick perverts she quit. Duelist Kingdom came and gone. So did Battle City. Mai never got the chance to tell her idiot of a friend how much she loved him. Even though he was about as clueless as they come.
(phone rings)
Mai (softly): Hello…?
Jounouchi: Mai? Are you ok? Ya sound like ya been cryin'.
Mai (softly): I'm sorry, I have a lot on my mind…
Jounouchi: Nightmares again?
Mai: …
Jounouchi: Ya still dere?
Mai (softly): Yes.
Jounouchi: What's wid yer voice?
Mai (softly): I got laryngitis…
Jounouchi: Oh… Do you want me to come over?
Mai smiles weakly
Mai (softly): I would like that more than anything. Jou?
Jounouchi: Yeah?
Mai (softly): I love you…
Jounouchi: I love ya too Mai.
