Summary: Set after tEM Orzorne plans his revenge on Daine.
I offered her everything, titles, money, a powerful position. More than she ever had in Tortall I'd wager, I offered her everything that anyone could wish for. Except her freedom, said a small voice in my head. What did she do in return for all my kindness? She escapes frees all the beasts in my menagerie, which took forever to collect, including those wretched hyenas. She destroyed my palace, killed any of my staff that stood in her way and allowed the rats to feast on the leftovers. Then she and her friends came after me and would have killed me had I not chosen to use the 'gift' that Lord Rikash gave me, condemning me to a life of misery. I lost my magic, my title, everything that mattered to me. I will have my revenge.
I will find her and her friends; I will conquer Tortall and destroy all who stand in my way. Then I will personally rip her limb from limb and make her suffer for what she did to me. When I am finished in Tortall I will return to Carthak and remove my traitorous nephew from the throne which is rightfully mine.
