So, long time, not much inspiration to speak of, but finally here is something presentable! Kinda soft and quiet, this one. Enjoy!

"One, two, three, four..."

Victoire listened quietly as Teddy's warm, deep voice rumbled in his chest, vibrating beneath her ear as he counted, slowly ticking off seconds until the thunder boomed outside. The fire crackled softly in the hearth and rain drummed the roof of the tower, and Victoire snuggled closer to him on the couch, curling into his arms and closing her eyes. Above them the thunder rolled and Teddy paused, stroking Victoire's hair as they listened.

At last the boom of the thunder faded, and for a moment the only sounds were the fire snapping and the steady pounding of the rain. Then lightning flashed, a slash of light in the distant darkness outside the window, and Teddy started counting again, slow and steady. Victoire gave a soft sigh of contentment, and smiled. Thunder tumbled through the sky again, closer this time, and Teddy fell silent once more, tilting his head to drop a kiss to Victoire's temple. He held her close, fingers still stroking through her hair, and she smiled again as lightning flashed once more on the dark grounds. She fell asleep to Teddy's quiet counting, wrapped up in his arms and in his voice. He smiled as she slipped into slumber and kissed the top of her head, and she snuggled nearer in her sleep. He yawned, happiness washing over him, closed his own eyes, and rested his cheek against her hair. He lived for moments like these.
