a/n: how do you write fluff through somebody else's eyes for a couple that doesn't involve this person?

Well this is my best attempt at it.

The "he" refers to Detective Ryan…it's after castle/beckett have been working together for awhile.

Prepare yourself for some fluff, but just a bit haha. I love fluff, but I can never write it properly. That and smut, but I'll work up to it.

Feedback is love.

Blue Eyes

He had stunning eyes, but nobody paid much attention to him. He stood in the corner by his friend arguing over some obscure fact when Kate Beckett wasn't looking or listening.

He teased and poked fun at her, just to make her life a little harder.

It wasn't really a crush, because he knew her too well. It was just a slight bit of jealousy of "guy-nature"

Yet when the man she was questioning got violent, he stepped out, and shoved him back forcefully, and said "back off."

The suspect backed off muttering something as the young female detective shouted that she would find a better time to question him, and muttered a few curses to herself afterwards.

She thanked him for making the guy keep his hands to himself, but then she'd walk away without another word.

She walked over to the author who just walked in from the doorway and told him to make a mental note to reschedule a questioning with this guy, maybe with a few security guards.

The author nodded, and asked, "Are you okay? I heard shouting."

She nodded silently, and he draped the arm around her back, and offered her a sip of the coffee that he was holding in his other hand. He pressed a kiss to her temple, and she took the coffee.

The two have been a team for far too long.

She showed him the newest case files, and they walked off together, talking, just like that.

The boy with the stunning ice blue eyes walked back over to his friend and picked up where the argument left off, ignoring the fact that he was ignored.

Too bad stunningly beautiful eyes didn't get you what you wanted; because Detective Ryan would have had everything he ever wanted.
