I would like to point out I am having too much fun with this fandom. (grins)

The dawn is breaking,

A light shining through

You're barely waking

And I'm tangled up in you…

'Hmmm…' A delightful sigh escaped the lips of a certain Hyuga heiress, her opalescent eyes still at half mast. She snuggled against her warm "pillow", which grunted loudly and buried its nose in her hair with an "Mmmmgoodmorning."

Hinata giggled quietly and shook Naruto's shoulder, "Come on, Naruto-kun…"

"Five more minutes…" he tightened his grip around her slim waist and pulled her close into his arms.

"So much for getting up early and getting home before otou-san notices I'm gone…" she teased before struggling to get out of his muscular arms, "I have to--urgh!---get home---augh!---or Neji-niisan--ugh!--can't--cover for me!"

Naruto sighed, scooting away reluctantly and scratching his sleep-capped head, "It's only…seven, you know."

"Yeah…but better safe than sorry." She gave him a small smile, "If we get caught again, who knows what otou-san will do to you…"

He rubbed the black and blue mark blooming over his whisker-etched cheeks, "…Yeah, no kidding…"

"So…" she reached upwards to the shelf where her clothes were neatly folded, when something pulled her back. Hinata landed with an "Eeek!" and a soft thump to find she was now firmly entangled in his strong arms, "H-hey! Naruto-kun!"

Naruto leaned over and whispered in her ear, "…You know, I don't really care if your father hits me again. I'd rather stay here."

She gave a false-exasperated sigh and snuggled closer to him, "If I get in trouble, it's your fault."

"Fair enough." He smiled and buried his nose in her hair again.

And the two of them fell asleep just like that, in the same position they had woken up in hours ago. And when Neji opened the door to Naruto's apartment, he didn't bang pots or throw weapons or threats. In fact he just shut the door again and left, trying to concoct a plan to tell Hiashi where his cousin had been all night and now in this morning.

He was getting pretty tired of this but…it was for his little cousin, and being with the fox made her really really happy. And seeing her happy made him….somewhat happy. But again, he would continually cover for her, because she loved that fox-possessed, hyperactive, knuckleheaded shinobi.

And it was as simple as that.
