The frigid creek water rushes alee -

It parts for stones without a care or wont

It seemed like the face of the river gaunt

Stared morosely as she chose gravely

"Oh Susannah" sung breathing heavily

The icy slush throws piercing jeers and taunts

Seems indifferent yet boasts and vaunts

Shows vanity greater than you or me

Moss and tadpoles line the somber grey stones

The bottom of the river stays hidden

This way it truly will stay forbidden

Beasts in the dark cry with blood-chilling moans

A desolate abyss harboring bones

The cursed who go to rest amongst brethren

Biding time to fight in Armageddon

Rotting mutely in waters overgrown

Above the dreary, horrible water

Fireflies lead golden-blue dragonflies

The cicadas' and crickets' waltz complies

The dance counters the soon-to-be slaughter

Of the sister-mother's stand-in daughter

Soft, glowing moonlight unveils all lies

Showed the filigree lies and her demise;

Stand at the tenebrous beck and totter
