Hi ya Scrubs fans! Okay so I am an author who likes to think out of the box on shows. Like when I see an episode I like to imagine an extra scene and since it will never be aired I like to write them down.
I started a similar thread of scenes for HIMYM. I decided to go for Scrubs now. Mostly cuz of season eights finale. I wondered how JD got Sunny to say her lines. This is what I came up with and I hope you like it.
He looked glum. It wasn't a look she expected from the kind, sweet and slightly crazy doctor.
"Dr. Dorian?" She called. JD glanced at her and offered a smile. A very forced smile trying to mask his utter sadness.
"Hi Sunny, great day today huh?" he asked.
She raised a brow and gently touched his arm. She wasn't buying his act at all.
"Are you okay Dr. D?" she questioned.
JD sighed and gave up his act. "Of course not Sunny…I hate that I have to leave here but…I love Sammy and I want to be close to him" he replied.
Sunny nodded with a gentle smile. "That's a great idea Dr. Dorian and I am sure Sammy will love you just as much" she told him.
He smiled back but it was only slightly less forced. "Thanks…I feel better now"
"Except leaving Sacred Heart isn't what's bothering you…." Sunny said and JD shrugged.
"Oh come on Dr. D, I know you want to be close to Sammy but you also want everyone here to tell you you'll be missed…it's human nature to want to be loved by all" she told him.
"So then why…" JD began to ask and sighed. "The only time he was the most supportive was when I lost my dad…all I want on my last day of work is for Perry Cox to just tell me he cares and that he'll miss me…I just want to know I was important here…is that such a crime?"
"Okay then…lets get Dr. Cox to admit it" Sunny told him.
JD blinked at her. "You…you…you'd really help me?" he stammered.
She nodded enthusiastically. "Sure why not" she answered. JD smiled happily and hugged her tightly.
Sunny laughed and returned the hug for a second.
"So…what would you like me to say to Dr. Cox?" she asked when they broke apart.
JD thought for a second. "Okay" he said after a few seconds.
"What?" she asked.
"Perry Cox is a stubborn man Sunny" he told him. She rolled her eyes at that and he chuckled.
"Okay I guess everyone knows that…what I know though is it does rile him when anyone trash talks someone he respects" JD replied.
"You think he'll vouch for you if I insult you?" Sunny asked.
JD nodded. "If he doesn't then he's not the man I thought he was and I'll just forget him"
"I think he will Dr. Dorian, you're a wonderful doctor and such a sweet guy" Sunny told him.
"Thanks Sunny, I'll write down everything I want you to say all you have to do is memorize it and I'll finally hear what I wanted to hear" JD replied.
Sunny nodded. "Okay" she agreed.
Dr. Cox had her doing a lot more work after that but she had to admit she'd still do what she did. Seeing JD smile a real happy smile was her reward. JD even called her on her day off and took her out to lunch. He then paid for whatever she wanted so it made it all worth it in the end.
