Hey, it's me! This is my FIRST TIME making a One-shot so just PLEASE go slow, okay? *wink*

"Lily!"

'This did NOT just happen. No. NEVER!'

Lily Evans stormed out of the Gryffindor Common Room. Her destination; the Black Lake. A few moment ago, she walked in on James and a fellow Gryffindor seventh year, McKenna Davis snogging on her favorite spot on the couch. Her fists tightened at the memory; her hands on his messy hair, his hands on her waist, and her smiling into the kiss.

This was NOT how she thought her night would be. She suddenly ran very fast into the night.

"Lily, please wait!"

This was the first time she actually heard James saying please to her; to anyone in that matter. Tears were forming in her eyes, causing her eyesight to feel blurry and dizzy.

'I wish I had said yes to him on the first time possible.'

She was slowly regretting all those times when she had said no to him; even though all she wanted was to say yes. Lily ran across the Great Hall.

It didn't matter that she wasn't in class. It was a Free Period, anyway. She was breathing heavily, and she ran into Severus and his friends as she tried to hide her tears.

"Lily! Lily, what's wrong?" Snape asked, obviously worried. "None of your business, Snivellus." she stormed.

She ran faster, as James was already behind her.

"Lily, wait!"

Just then, she heard a body colliding into a wall. "What did you do to her?!" Severus boomed. There was no answer.

She had stopped running and turned around.

"James!" a girl with brown locks of hair cried out. "Leave me alone, McKenna!" James answered. She scurried off into the Great Hall, crying as she went. Lily was horrified at the sight. James was (magically) tied to the wall, and Severus was casting as spell at him.

"Sectumsempra!" a few gasps were heard from the small crowd that had formed while watching the fight. Lily had barricaded herself between the two boys and received the spell instead.

"LILY!" both boys chorused. Deep gushes and scars were seen on her soft, fragile skin. She was extremely pale, and her fiery red hair served as a pillow for the fainted girl.

James was quickest, for he ran over to Lily and carried her straight to the Hospital Wing.

"Good gracious me, Mr. Potter! What have you done to Ms. Evans, here!" Madam Pomfrey was exclaiming. "It wasn't me, Professor! It was that stupid git of a Slytherin named Severus Snape!" James answered as Snape entered. "No, no, no. This will not do, Mr. Snape! Only one visitor at a time for this young lady!" the old witch cried as she slammed the door on his face.

Lily was rushed onto a hospital bed and Madam Pomfrey recited the counter curse.

It was not until a few days did Lily ever wake up. Madam Pomfrey said that only one could visit her everyday, and that was unfair since James was there night and day. He spent his day playing with her hair and slept on a chair beside her bed.

"James?" He woke up with a start. Lily's green eyes were staring at his hazel ones.

"Lily!" and he kissed her, then and there. She was shell-shocked, but responded to the equal enthusiasm of James.

"I love you, Lily Evans."

"I love you to, James Potter."

His smile brightened up a bit more, if that was possible.

"Oh! I see that you've woken up! You may leave the Hospital Wing now, Ms. Evans." Madam Pomfrey said cheerfully, peering through her office door.

So Lily walked out the Hospital Wing with James, holding hands, of course. They sat together at breakfast and James stood on the Gryffindor Table as he said, "LILY EVANS, WILL YOU GO OUT WITH ME?" and Lily, of course, said yes.

They were so happy that they didn't notice Severus Snape storm out of the Great Hall, obviously hurt.
