She Will Be Loved

Summary: She had only met her father once, and he told her, 'When you are old enough I will be back for you. I can't have you now, but when you are of age in the muggle world I can claim you and your mother will have no say in it." She had been ten at the time and didn't understand. Now she does though...and she didn't know if she would have rather stayed ignorant than learn the truth.

Kagome Higurashi only met her father once, and she had been only ten years old when she met him. He had wanted to take her away.

Her mother refused, and for some reason her father couldn't get custody of her.

Kagome remembered his parting words to her, "When you are old enough I will be back for you. I can't have you now, but when you are of age in the muggle world I can claim you and your mother will have no say in it."

Kagome didn't understand what he meant then, but she knew she was going to know what he meant soon.

She would be of age in less than three hours, she couldn't wait. Kagome wanted to be able to travel. Her mother wouldn't let her go anywhere after the jewel was finished and she no longer could go to the past.

Her mother wanted her closer and at home till she was of age. It sounded like a weird request at first, but Kagome was going to follow her rules. She would indulge her mother her birthday.

Kagome wanted something exciting to do with her life. Something she couldn't get where she lived now. She could never have a normal life because of her trips to her past. Kagome had seen and experienced too much.

Kagome had learned to many things too. That and her powers were something that set her apart from regular people.

Kagome Higurashi wasn't a normal person, she was far from it. She had learned this through her adventures in the past...and it wasn't a bad thing.

Kagome was brought out of her thoughts by a something coming through her window making her jump. It was an owl... the owl dropped something on her desk before flying out the window again.

"...what the..." Kagome muttered as she went to pick up what the owl and dropped. It was a letter.

Blinking Kagome looked at the letter in her hand addressed to her, not with her mothers maiden name, but the name her father gave her.

It was with this letter she knew he was coming for her. Kagome had a feeling this family reunion wasn't going to be a pleasant one.

Not at all.
