Deep, red blood soaked into the fine sands,
Why did I survive the pain?
Why was everyone's lives put in my hands?
The agony screams, come back to haunt me, never again.
Blood ran down my legs, chest and arms,
I glanced at the dead bodies lying there,
Why couldn't it have been a normal day with the usual charms?
Everyone's faces frozen, like dying was their last care.
I looked up into the skies,
Not a ray of sun anywhere in sight,
I remembered their last screams of fear, cries,
Why me in left in this horrid plight?
I lifted my sword up to my chest,
Nothing to live for in this world.
I hadn't tried my very best,
Before I knew it, my life had curled.
Anger and pain, filled my soul,
I stood there acting like a jerk,
I stared into his cold, merciless, eyes like coal.
I'll never forget that tormenting smirk.
The pain, the pain in my lonely heart,
Forgive me father please, never again I swear,
I should've taken your advice at the start.
But now I know you really do care.
