A river rushed on through a shady wood,
The babbling brooklet seemed to sing with glee.
Upon a rock the graceful goddess stood,
Around her flew a buzzing bumblebee.
Fair Gaia looked upon a sunlit hill,
A cloudless sky above her gracious head.
Her feet she dipped into the shining rill,
The fish were flitting 'round the riverbed.
A stately stag let fall his head to drink,
A warbling bird flew past the glist'ning creek,
A stealthy fox crept to the water's brink.
The setting sun then kissed the mountain peak.
The goddess blessed the forest and the stream;
The animals laid down their heads to dream.
