On the way to her destination Tara stopped at Sookie's house to grab a pen and paper. She had to think quick, before her maker did something to ease the anxiety that raced through the bond. Something that the baby vampire couldn't forgive. Tara knew the blonde was impulsive and when faced with any emotional overhaul she would seek physical comfort. That would not do.
Tara sat on her childhood friend's porch and looked up at the stars. Every since she was turned this calmed her, made her feel at peace. When she watched the night sky her enhanced vision picked out every star, every cosmic spec. It made her remember ,in the grand scheme of things, the bullshit meant nothing. Then she began to write.
When Tara arrived where her maker's scent was the strongest, she found herself in a suburban neighborhood in front of a very large, very pastel colored house.
The young vampire paced for a few minutes trying to figure out the most romantic way to leave her note without scaring her maker off permanently.
And she was drawing a blank.
Tara had muted her end of the bond in so as not to spook the older vampire. Finally she decided to slip it through the mail slot. She thought it was kind of a pussy's way out but she couldn't think any other way to do it.
Pam sped to the front door when she heard the mail slot open and snap closed. When she made it to the door her ,usually blue but now, grey eyes zoomed in on a folded piece of paper on the floor. The blonde's progeny's scent was all over it. The smile she didn't even know had found its way on her mouth immediatly reformed into a scowl. Pam balled the note up and tossed it into the waste basket near her desk, eight feet away.
"swish", she thought with a small smile.
Pam's charade of indifference only lasted for nine-ten minutes before she was indian-style, in front the said waste basket unfolding the note. It read
If Only
If only I could keep you for a second
to show you how to love, that would be my only lesson
I know that you've been taught to use your body as a weapon
but I feel like the fact that I get to touch you is a blessing
I'm sure you've been informed just how beautiful you are
your eyes compared to oceans, sapphires, and stars
but has anyone ever found the beauty in all the scars
But the fact that you fear love is really breaking my heart
So when the going gets tough you start running
but you being away is way more than I can stomach
to get you back I'll write hiakus, epic poems, and sonnets
love's not easy babe we gotta work on it
So why don't you come home love, forget about your pride
This is just a detour we still got a long ride
I know exposing your feelings made you wanna run and hide
when I just wish that you'd trust in us enough to confide
in me
if only
Always, Tara
As she read the poem for the third time, Pam's pupils dilated and her loins clenched. She could hear her progeny's soft alto whispering the words into her ear, and it drove her crazy.
The blonde tried to contain herself as she pulled her phone out of its holster and sent a quick text to the brunette who plagued her every waking thoughts.
Where are you? I need you. -"You're Welcome"
;) Outside. Open the door.- T. T.
Pam chewed her nails in an uncharacteristic show of nervousness, before standing and checking herself out in the mirror behind her. After tidying her clothes and hair, the elder vampire took an unnecessary breath, then swung the door open...
the end?
