Finally, I could get my life at this bloody school over with. I hated my time at Hogwarts, with everything that goes on. Okay, I don't hate all of it. There were a few perks, but rarely did I see too many. I walked on board the red train, and sat in an empty compartment. This was normal; I didn't actually have any friends in Slytherin. Most people in my house just liked to torment me.
In my mind, I didn't really need friends; I didn't find it very important. Most people would say I was wrong, but who were they to judge? With a book lying across my lap, I read quietly. It was peaceful in the compartment, seeing as no one knew me, or wanted to talk with me.
The ride went by quickly, as per usual. Once unloaded, we filled into the Great Hall. The Sorting would be taking place soon, and that would mean the more people the Slytherin's would convince to torture me.
"Surprised you haven't left the school yet, with how many complaints you have."
I looked up at the girl who was speaking to me. I didn't know her name, but she made some effort at some random points in time to speak to me.
"I have to finish my education somewhere, don't I? It's not like I have another five years here. Besides, don't you have some friends to get to, why talk to little ol' me? You'll get shunned if you do."
"That I don't care about. You need someone, it's bad to just sit and read. At least, it would seem evil for your health."
"I'm used to it. So you can move along to your next pity party if you'd like."
"Listen to me. I'm not trying to throw some pity party! I'm telling the truth to you! Why the bloody hell would I make any effort to talk to you if I cared about how others saw me?!" I simply sighed and moved over, giving the chance for her to sit down. I knew I wasn't going to win the argument.
The rest of the evening went by weirdly for me, with this new "friend", and the fact that I actually had some peace for once. Not that I'm complaining too much.

The next few months were slow, with barely any interesting things happening. I was happy for this sudden peace with little to no torment from my classmates. Guess that friend thing actually worked. Huh, who would have known?
Classes went by quickly, and homework was a bore. It was really the only thing I had to do. Everything was normal, and to be honest, I liked it that way. Normal was what I enjoyed best about this year. Hey, my mind was changing from my original thoughts about this school.
That all changed when I was on prefect duty. As I was wandering around in the night, I heard something. It sounded like footsteps, yet there were more than one. Maybe two or more, I couldn't exactly tell. Anyway, I should go and figure it out before I get in trouble.
Quietly walking in the way of the footsteps, I caught the boys who were walking. Gryffindors. How…predicted.
"Is there a reason you boys are walking around in the dead of night? Is there a problem that needs your attention, or are you just being stupid?"
I didn't see what this would bring onto myself…
