The Promise of the Rose
After I saw the Sailor Moon R movie, Promise of the Rose, this scene stood out for me and so I doodled it up during class.
I used Darien because I don't know how to spell Mamoru without looking it up. And, I dunno... shrug I like the name Darien
Between Fiore and Darien after Darien is injured and Fiore wisks him away to heal him
Darien's breath came in short painful gasps. He fell back into Serenity's arms and his world went back.
When he came to, it felt as though he was floating. When he opened his eyes, everything was a murky blue color. He tried moving and gasped as pain shot through him. Darien doubled up and waited for the pain to fade. As he sat there he realized he was floating in some liquid, but he could still breathe.
"Darien," came Fiore's voice, "You are still hurt. You must rest."
Before he could respond, darkness closed in around him.
When he woke again he could move a little better. At least his body didn't scream in pain whenever he moved. The... whatever it was felt a little thicker than water. For a bit he just floated there, taking in his surroundings.
Fiore had him trapped within a large crystal box. The walls felt like glass, but he couldn't break through.
"I'm here for you..." Fiore said softly.
"Fiore..." Darien winced and his hand went to his chest.
"Just stay in there - you will heal soon," Fiore said soothingly
Darien closed his eyes, "I remember you now... you're real... I thought... I had just imagined you..."
"No, I'm real alright," Fiore responded with a slight smile, "Since I left you I had been searching the universe... and I've finally found the perfect flower for you..."
Darien shifted slightly and winced again.
Fiore's eyes narrowed, getting a glint that Darien didn't remember, "When I picked up the Kisenian flower I realized that all of the people of earth that had abandoned my friend Darien must pay."
"No..." Darien whispered, "Fiore... don't..." He opened his eyes, "Why are you doing this?"
"Because then neither of us will ever be alone again," Fiore said - the red glow of his eyes matching the red flower in his lapel, "And I will be the only one to give you flowers!"
"Fiore..."
Darien's fingers twitched. He wished he could send a sharp rose right through the heart of that monster masquerading as a flower. Usually the flowers would just appear in his hand but none would come. A sharp pain tinged through his chest and he had to close his eyes.
"Rest my friend," Fiore said, "I have business to attend to. Just rest."
Darien sighed as Fiore vanished and he closed his eyes again, just floating there helplessly.
Suddenly his heart started to pound the way it always did when Serenity was in trouble. She was close! He had to get to her!
Darien rammed again and again against the wall in frustration. Suddenly he heard a soft crack and he stopped. A tiny spiderweb of cracks spread across the wall. His eyes narrowed in determination and he slammed his shoulder into the wall again, spreading the cracks.
One more hit and the wall shattered.
He let the water carry him out. For a moment he just lay there, catching his breath.
Then he got to his feet and took off at a run.
