Operation Thiadia
GoldAtTheEndOfTheKlainebow
Kurt's phone began to ring while he was finishing his Math Homework. He looked at the caller ID, an unknown number, he read.
"Probably some prank caller." He said under his breath, leaving the phone to play the rest of "Defying Gravity" as he carried on looking at surds.
Just over an hour later, the phone began to play the song again, with the same reading; an unknown number. He warily picked up the phone and answered it. "Hello?"
Kurt's phone began to flash green, he flinched as the phone vibrated, the phone fell out of his hand and onto the bed where a hologram appeared, hovering above the screen.
"This message will only be played once." Kurt scrambled to get a pen and paper, "Kurt Hummel, we are to inform you of something very classified. We have received permission from your father to tell you this information." Kurt could only just stare at the sight before him. The frequencies rising and falling as the speech continued. "When you were born, you were granted an ability. You won't be allowed to tell anyone about it, if you do their memory will be wiped of the last five minutes, and in only very small cases can cause short term negative side-effects. We will grant you several tasks to complete before you will be ready to be a fully fledged Thiadian. If you have any further questions please call the number highlighted under the frequency bars."
Kurt made a note of the number.
The phone call ended and the hologram disappeared.
This had to be some sort of prank...surely, right?
Just before dinner was ready, Kurt went downstairs.
Kurt peered around the doorway of the kitchen to find his dad watching the game. "Dad, do you know anything about Thiadians?"
Burt obviously had heard his son, but didn't seem to reply. "Dad, have you heard of them?"
But Burt's face was blank, eyes locked on the screen of the television.
Kurt came closer to his father placing a hand on his father's shoulder. Burt made no sign that he saw that his son was there, let alone asking him.
Burt continued to stare into space, confusing Kurt further as he began to worry about his father.
Kurt looked down to his father, "Dad, are you okay? I just wanted to know if you knew anything about Thiadians. Do they even exist, and what are they? It seems very unlikely that this actually happening."
Burt snapped out of his trance.
"What's actually happening, Kurt?" Burt looked up to his son. "I really have no idea of what you're going on about. Weren't you just upstairs studying? When did you suddenly get here! I would have noticed wouldn't I?"
I was just upstairs studying, and been walking downstairs for the last five minutes. That phonecall too... phone's don't normally do that. This has got to be some sort of joke. "Thiadians" aren't real, right?
Burt was just as confused as Kurt.
"I hope I'm not losing my memory or anything. It's too soon for that…" Burt chuckled and patted his son on the back as he made his way up the stairs.
Kurt looked back, "I'm sure it's nothing, Dad."
