Dualism
By SMYGO4EVA

On the surface, they were a disaster waiting to happen, a mismatch. They were both so different in so many fundamental ways that a partnership simply wouldn't work.

Arcee was bold, brash, brazen, and very rough and tumble. She never wanted to be confined, most at home exploring all of the arches of Cybertron. A scout to the very core, she was always one to speak her mind, to push for her beliefs, her first instinct to fight for what she believed in.

Tailgate was different; he was quiet, withdrawn, relearning his place in the universe. He may have the will of a warrior, but he was instinctively careful, not delicate but far from fearless. At once confident and cautious, a dualism that was both cursed but gifted.

The two had little in common, at first glance. But there was a passion within each of them, adoration for the ones they cared for, their teammates, and for each other, and their servos fit together like their fingers were made to be entwined.

"Like fire and ice, partner." Tailgate had once said with a wry smile, the words like an old joke to them now. It coaxed an optic roll from Arcee, but it was affectionate, as she wouldn't have it any other way, under the harvest moon.
