Chapter 1: Enter the Gamemaster
A/N: I know I said that I was gonna hold off on the fics that involve Yu-Gi-Oh (more specifically, the duelling aspect), but the first handful of chapters for this one won't really involve any duelling. Besides, with this (and the upcoming Duel of Destiny, which is also a Harry Potter/Yu-Gi-Oh fic, but set a few months after the Yugi/Atem Ceremonial Duel in the Yu-Gi-Oh series instead of being set during the GX era), it'll help get my mind back in step with the rules of Duel Monsters before the 5Ds era (so, don't expect to see any Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum Link cards in either fic) and also get my mind ready for when I get around to typing up the Yu-Gi-Oh Beyond series.
And for my friend on the other side of the Atlantic (looks at knightblazer85), hope you like what I cooked up for the various Harry Potter crossover fics you had done over the years.

The partying continued at Hogwarts. The Tri-Wizard Tournament was over, Hogwarts had taken the win.
And the Dark Lord Voldemort was defeated and missing a large portion of his upper torso and head only minutes after his resurrection.
There were costs however. Cedric Diggory, who was considered Hogwarts' True Champion, was murdered by Peter Pettigrew. Not that the betrayer of the Potter family lasted long after Voldemort. Every Death Eater tied to the Dark Mark had keeled over dead wherever they were in the world after their hearts exploded.
Sirius Black was cleared of the crimes for which he was sent to Azkaban when Harry Potter returned from the graveyard. On one bleeding hand he grasped the robes borne by the corpses of Voldemort and Peter Pettigrew, in the other he held Cedric Diggory's still warm corpse and the Tri-Wizard Trophy. Bartimus Crouch Junior was discovered in the Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor's office at Hogwarts, a flask of polyjuice clutched in his fist. Severus Snape was found face down in a botched potion in his Lab in the dungeons. The potion had exploded, taking off half of his face and badly scaring the other half after he died.
And the final price, depending on who people asked, was that Harry James Potter, the Boy-Who-Won, was expelled from Hogwarts for causing the death of Cedric Diggory. He was told by Minster Fudge as his wand was snapped in Dumbledore's office that he would never be welcomed in a European Institute of Magical Education again.
Harry snorted to himself as he strolled down the cobblestone path to Hogsmeade, it was a warm sunny day. He had three pieces of business to attend to and then he was gone.
"So what now Cub?" the newly cleared Sirius asked from his left.
"I've got some things to take care of," Harry replied. "And then I'm leaving England."
"Where're you headed?" Remus asked from his right side.
Harry's response was to smile to at the Werewolf, "How's your Japanese?"
Five days later, cousins Harry Sirius Black and family friend Remus Lupin sat in the first class of a British Airways flight bound for Domino, Japan, where Harry Potter-Black, recently adopted Heir to the Black Fortune was set to begin his new, normal life.
No more magic, no more dark lords, no more annoying old men... Or so he thinks.

"I still don't get why you're going to see this guy Harry," Sirius groused. "I met him once before your parents died and he creeped me out."
"I've told you a dozen times Sirius," Harry sighed. "My mother was made a partner in Industrial Illusions when Pegasus founded the company. Forty five percent of my mother's income from her investments came from Pegasus alone. This guy is almost as rich as Bill Gates. He makes me ten thousand dollars every week. That's over half a million every year. I'd like to make sure that he didn't make my money working for a weapons company like Kaiba Corp."
"I thought Kaiba Corp changed to a game company after the last President Gozaburo vanished in 1993," Remus said.
"True." Harry nodded, as the sea plane he sat aboard came to a stop at a pier below Pegasus' private Manor. "But I don't like the new President Seto. He's an asshole."
"I saw his duels at Battle City," Remus agreed. "He's ruthless."
"But he still got his ass kicked by that Moto kid a few times," Sirius said.
"As nasty as that draw in their first duel was," Harry said. "It was still a one in a million draw for those five Exodia cards."
"You wouldn't use them?" Remus asked.
"Where's the fun in it?" Harry asked. "I'd rather stick to the deck's I've got until I can cook up a definitive deck structure from the sets I have."
"Don't want to load your deck down with too many cards that can't work together?" Remus asked.
"That's the general idea," Harry agreed. "I'll work with the Red Dragon and White Lightning Decks until I decide what I'm gonna use."
"Greetings Harry boy," Pegasus smiled with what Harry could only describe as a 'Cheshire Cat Grin'.
"Good morning, Mr. Pegasus." Harry smiled as he shook the silver haired billionaire's hand.
"Please, please call me Max." Pegasus smiled, as he sat down in one of the garden chairs next to a small pond and looked towards his butler. "A red wine spritzer please, Croquet."
"And for your guests?" the butler intoned.
"Coffee for me, thank you," Harry smiled.
"Tea for us please," Remus answered, to which Sirius nodded.
"So," Max smiled, when Croquet was gone. "How can I help the son of my dear old friend Lily?"
"I've recently come into my inheritance from my parents" Harry said "My accountants are handling things perfectly but my mother's journals mentioned the two of you were friends so I thought it would be polite to let you know in person that I'm back in the saddle. And I also want to try and get to know my parents a little better since these reprobates beside me only ever talk about my father's escapades as a master prankster and self-styled ladies' man"
Remus and Sirius' response was to blow a raspberry at him.
Max sighed in relief as he sat back and straightened the jacket of his suit "And here I was worried you were going to pull your shares"
"Are you nuts?" Harry gaped "I love duel monsters. I've been playing off and on since I was a kid"
"Good" Max smiled as Croquet returned with the drinks "Merci Croquet" and then he took a sip of his red wine spritzer while Harry seasoned his coffee with sugar and milk "I heard that you had been expelled from your previous boarding school"
"Yeah" Harry nodded as he sipped his coffee "There was an accident during an international tournament, a student died and the headmaster held me responsible"
"So Voldemort is gone yes?" Max asked
Harry stared at him in shock "Oh calm down Harry boy, this old squib isn't without his resources" then he swept aside the silver hair that concealed the left side of his face, revealing severe burns and old scars around his half closed left eye "Once upon a time I dabbled in some rather strange magic's myself"
"OK then" Harry nodded "Yes Riddle has kicked the bucket, of course the process of doing so dragged all his Death Eaters down with him. But who's complaining. Right now I'm between schools"
"Well I have a few ideas about that but right now let's get down to business" Max smiled "Is there anything in particular you want to discuss about how I'm running the company?"
"As long as you don't end up like Kaiba then no" Harry agreed as he handed Max a computer disc and a heavy notebook "However I do have some things my mother wanted to give to you"
Max's eyes widened as he took the book and the disc "Lily's designs"
"Yup" Harry nodded "I think mum might have been a seer of some kind though"
"Oh?" Max asked
"Yeah, some of the designs she cooked up seem to correspond with the new duelling rules that were brought into play before the Battle City Tournament"
"Well Lily wasn't a seer then" Max smiled "When we duelled each other Lily suggested we make things a little more interesting by using the rules that would later become the Battle City Tribute Summoning Rules. She designed some cards based on those rules and helped me cook up a rule book based on the duelling method she used. Before Battle City I had been working to have Lily's rules incorporated into the official rules of the game. I'll make sure that you get the first printed copy of these cards and once I've had my people scan the book and copy the disc that they're sent back to Domino"
"Thanks" Harry nodded.
"Now as to your future, have you given it any thought?" Max asked
"Well I've given it some thought" Harry agreed "Crackthorn's assessment of my finances means that my great grand kids won't have to work to put food on the table. So I'm trying to decide what I want to do instead of what I need to do"
"Have you considered professional duelling?" Max asked
"The pro's?" Harry asked "You need to have been duelling for years to get accepted to those tournaments"
"Normally true" Max agreed "However Kaiba Boy had an interesting idea about six years ago to open a series of academies around the world to allow teenagers to learn advanced duelling techniques in a formal setting, applicants must be fifteen years of age to enter. Upon completing three years of study a graduate will be eligible for automatic entry into the professional duelling league"
"Three years huh?" Harry mused "And they're boarding schools I take it?"
"Yes" Max agreed "Much like Hogwarts I think, at the primary academy off the coast of Japan, students are separated into three different dorms based on different things, Obelisk Blue houses students from rich families and students with incredible skills, Ra Yellow houses the duelling brain boxes, skills without connections, and the final dorm, Slifer Red gets what the rest of the academy calls the dead lasts, the students who barely passed their exams or in some cases may have pissed off the wrong teacher"
"How many academies are there?" Remus asked
"I'm not sure" Max said "I think there are five including Duel Academy"
"Hmm" Harry mused as he stood up "I might just have to look into that. Thanks for the help"
"Keep in touch Harry boy" Max smiled as Harry led Sirius and Remus back downstairs to the sea plane.
"Duel Academy huh?" Harry mused "Sounds interesting"

A/N: So, here's a question for you guys. Where at in GX should we drop Harry off at? You got four choices…
1) Right at the beginning, when Jaden/Judai gets Winged Kuriboh
2) After Zane/Kaiser leaves Duel Academy, during the time when Jaden's dealing with Aster/Edo the Society of Light
3) During the tournament with the various Duel Academies Yubel
4) The final season, when Jaden goes up against the minions of Darkness
The answer to this poll will be revealed at the earliest Chapter 3 and no later than Chapter 10.
