Luna had always loved Neville, right from the day he first spoke to her. She could remember it as though it was yesterday. It was the first Gryffindor against Slytherin game of the season. She had been moping about all week as here pet pygmy puff had died, but Ginny had persuaded her to come out to the game. The morning of the game dawned bright and cheery and Luna's mood reflected that. She was looking forward to the game and spending time just hanging out with Ginny. Lately they hadn't had much of a chance to do that as it was their O.W.L year. However when she went to the Great Hall for breakfast she found that Ginny already had company. It was Neville Longbottom. Luna knew about him and had a slight crush on him, but had never spoken to him. It was her worst nightmare for him to be there, she felt so nervous. Once she got within earshot she called out to Ginny. "Hey, Ginja Ninja." That was her nickname for Ginny that they had made in the DA last year. When she sat down, Ginny introduced her to Neville properly. "Luna, this is Neville. Neville, Luna. You probably remember seeing each other in the DA last year" Neville spoke first by saying "yeah, sure I remember. Yours was the hare patronus, wasn't it?" Startled that he would remember something so trivial, it took Luna a little while to reply. "Um … Yeah it was." After that there was an awkward silence while they all ate breakfast. Then Ginny said, "Come on guys, let's go to the game." At that the three of them stood up and headed to the pitch. When they got to the stands, Ginny ran off to wish Harry good luck and Neville and Luna went to get good seats. Luna was so nervous but when she actually sat down and started talking to Neville before the game started, she realised she actually had a lot in common with him. After the game, with the usual result Gryffindor smearing the ground with Slytherin, Luna got invited to the victory party in the Room of Requirement by both Ginny and Neville. Later that evening at the party after Luna had said congratulations to the Gryffindor team and danced about stupid with Ginny, she went over and sat at the refreshment table. After she had sat there for about five minutes, Neville came over and sat next to her. " Hey Luna, this is some party huh?" Luna was surprised he was talking to her, sure he spoke to her at the game but he hadn't had much choice. Once she had got over the shock of him speaking to her she replied, "Hey. Yeah it's the best party I've been to in a long while." Neville smiled. "Good, then you won't mind dancing with me." Without a seconds thought, she agreed. What followed on was the best night ever for both of them. They danced and talked all night long and when Neville walked Luna home to the Ravenclaw tower, he kissed her good night…
"Hey Luna, you ready?" Ginny asked as she poked her head in the door. "Yeah, more than ready" Luna said as she stood up. Ginny walked over to give her very best friend a hug. Before they walked out of the room they looked in the mirror. Ginny looked gorgeous in her sky blue bridesmaid dress but she wouldn't be the one getting all the attention, it would be Luna. She looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress. "Come on Luna. Neville will be waiting" Ginny said as she walked out the room. Luna smiled as she thought about all that they had been through, but yes one party and kiss led to more kisses and dates and the rest they say is history.
