AN: Yes, very unfortunately we do not have here a very happy story really. So yes and I do apologize for any mistakes that this one may have. Read the story and tell me what you think happened here. And this takes place in an AU of sorts in The Last Olympian where Percy and Co are defending Camp Half-Blood to the last hero.
*Swish* Swords flew past his head, missing him by centimeters. He was on autopilot. Fighting, moving, cutting down all his enemies with deadly intent, focusing on nothing else. He was living the moment that he was in, fighting with the enemy, beating them back with his own blade.
All he had was what he was defending, all he wanted was what he was trying to fight for. He knew for a fact that he wouldn't rest until he had eliminated the threat to what was his present, his future, his past and most importantly, his life.
There was simply nothing he would not do for his friends, family and loved ones. Fighting for them to protect them was the simplest thing he could do, making them happy and cheerful, not sad and depressed was what he strived for. Even if it hurt him, even if it was at his own expense.
However this was his weakness, his family, his friends, anyone he cared about. He can't let them suffer and so he chooses to bear that suffering on himself, like holding up the sky to help Artemis and trap Atlas back under the sky once again. Terrible things have happened to him and he could have broken down, he could have become insane, but for his friends and family, he can't and he won't.
All of this went through his head as he was fighting, the sole reason why he was fighting, why he was spilling blood and shedding blood to do so, why he was willing to do such a terrible thing as to kill.
Then, a terrible scream rips through the hill, that used to be green and peaceful, now blood-stained and burning, everything nearly destroyed. He sprinted in the direction of the scream, praying to every single god he could think of that it wasn't who he thought it was and that nothing had happened.
He reached a clearing and was relieved to find out that the reason why he moved in the direction so fast, that Hermes would be jealous, was not here but he then noticed Cyclopes standing there and realized what he had just fallen for, a trap.
He felt a terrible pain in his lower back, where his Achilles spot was, the spot that grounded him to mortal life. His whole body felt like it was melting and being crushed. He stiffened and keeled over, only to be caught by gentle hands and slowly placed on the floor.
He looked up and saw gray eyes and blond curly hair, the face of who he most wanted to protect and fight for, and the person who had grounded him to his mortal life. Annabeth Chase. She betrayed him.
Annabeth had tears running down the sides of her face as she sobbed out the words "Sorry Percy, I am so very sorry".
As he started to black out and fade, he looked at her through his sea green eyes that used to be full of life, now full of emptiness, and asked "Why?" before he could get an answer, he felt his body give way and he fell into the empty darkness, down to Hades.
AN: Well that was a longer one, that's for sure. Well this one is not really what I would call very cheery but i cant really stop my brain from giving me these good ideas can i? Otherwise you guys won't have as many stories and i would be hard pressed to think of some. Oh and just because i feel like you guys should know this story was completely out of the blue and not what I was really aiming to write. And now that i am not rambling, review this and tell me what you think and be sure to look for mistakes so i can correct them, if need be.
