Title: No More Tears

Chapter Title: Don't Like to See You Cry

Spoilers: None (unless you count Castiel in general)

Warnings: Angst, language, slash (Destiel)

Author's Note: Just a little drabble I wrote. I've very much needed to get back into writing. Reviews would be love! :)

Castiel knew that Dean couldn't see him from his vantage point on the building above the ground. His brows furrowed deeply as he watched the extremely strong hunter break down outside the Impala. His fists were white as he gripped the black metal, surprising Cas when they didn't create dents in the metal. Dean's whole body was shaking and his face was covered in the salty water that he never understood. It never affected him until he saw it pouring from the human's eyes, staining his perfect tan skin and causing his whole body to just slump as if he gave up on the world.

The angel didn't even think as he popped up behind Dean. He frowned sadly as he set a gentle hand on the hunter's shoulder. Dean gasped and turned, his frown turning into a mask of confusion, embarrassment, and defensiveness, but Castiel shook his head. Dean's mouth shut as he went to speak. Cas reached up and put to fingers to his forehead and barely five seconds later, they were no longer in the humid rain of the northeast. Dean blinked and his body rocked a little as he looked around. "The hell—" He roughly swiped a hand over his face and managed to catch all the newly fallen tears, probably not realizing how red his eyes were or how stained his face was. He looked down at his feet and gasped, jumping back a good yard. "Cas, what the hell? Where are we?" he demanded.

"The grand canyon."

Dean's anger faded instantly and he looked up at the angel, astonished. Cas's even face didn't fade, but he could see the look of shock and wonder cover Dean's face. Slowly he looked back over the edge, a small smile erupting on his face. "But…why?" he asked quietly.

Cas shrugged softly and slipped an arm around Dean's waist. "I wanted to make you happy." I don't like to see you cry. But he didn't elaborate. Dean's smile widened and he leaned over for a small kiss, his arms wrapping around Castiel's shoulders.

"Thank you, Cas," he whispered. Cas just smiled and kissed him again.
