The Teddy Bear
I see a teddy bear,
It floats by her bed,
The girl who only sleeps,
The girl looks lonely in her slumber,
I sit and watch her,
And I wonder as I look around,
There's no one here,
What happens?
If she has a bad dream in her sleep?
There is no one here to hear her cry,
She is alone,
No one to hold her,
If she has a bad dream,
No one here,
Only a stuffed bear,
I remember when I was little,
I slept with a toy,
I helped me sleep,
This bear must be hers,
It's the only thing here,
I bet she misses her bear,
It's all she has,
It's the only thing here,
She is alone,
She can't reach her bear,
I can't let her cry alone,
I see her face,
It is a sad little face,
I must leave now,
I'm sorry,
I say and turn to leave,
But before I do,
I put the bear by her side,
So she can reach it,
I get ready to leave,
Then I hear a sound,
I turn and see,
A smile,
She smiles and holds the bear,
She is no longer alone,
Her best friend is here,
Her best friend,
The teddy bear.
