*Nirnaeth Arnoediad*

Swords clash
Metal against metal
The sound slices through my heart
The blade slits mercilessly at the foe

Flesh rips opens
Fresh blood spills
It pools around my feet
The blood of friend and foe
Combining as one
The blood stains my mind
The stream of blood - rich and red,
Dries a flaky, muddy mess

Carcasses pile high
The dark skies hide the terrors
The lifeless bodies,
Dilated eyes,
And the pale, clammy skin
Whose fate is better?
The guilt-laden one who survives
And will be forever haunted
Or he who dies a cruel death,
and is left with a fate unknown.

Are these heroic soldiers?
Brave upon the battle field,
Glory
Fame
Victory
The truth is but a living hell
Six days of this bitter reality
We, the men of Hador
- are the last to crumble
The toxic air chokes us
As we gasp for our last living breaths
Angband's armies close in
Inevitable death will follow
I have moments left to wait

Memories of our loved ones
Stream through our minds
Our hearts,
These are but mere imaginings now
Fantasies brutally mutilated
War invades our thoughts
Killing all strangers ruthlessly
All those labeled enemy

Our last valiant moments approach
Swords clash
Metal against metal
A shiver takes me off my guard
The sun sinks below the sea
Pain runs wild in my veins
My body loses feeling
My soul slips away
Doomed to the fate of men
I wither from the grounds of middle earth
My part has ended,
True to the battle's name:
