Hey, this is my first fanfic, so I thought I'd play it safe and write this for the friendship genre. Anyway, reviews/critics are appreciated.

Something Borrowed, Something Blue

Falco unpacked the last of his belongings. Everything was how he'd left it. Well, except that the room next to his was now inhabited by a stranger. How can Fox trust this girl already? He thought.

Curious, Falco stepped out into the familiar corridor and approached the door. Taking a deep breath, he reached up to knock.

"Come in," the voice called before his fist could tap the metal. He reluctantly obeyed and entered the room.

Krystal looked up from where she was seated on her bed. "Oh, pardon me," she said, getting up, "I thought you were Fox."

Falco took a moment to take in the new essence of the room. After all, there had never been a female on board. "We weren't properly introduced," he finally said. He stuck out his hand. "Falco Lombardi."

Krystal quickly came over to shake his hand. "Krystal," she stated. When Falco looked at her as if he were expecting more, she added "That's it. Just Krystal."

Falco nodded. He looked at the room once more. "So it looks like you're all settled in."

"Uhh, yes it looks that way," she answered, "I was eager to see my new home. Weren't you?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well we're both new to the team and—"

"Whoa whoa whoa," Falco cut her off, "I'm not new... I mean technically… yeah but… Look don't you know who I am?"

Krystal shook her head. "I'm new to all of this."

Falco tried to hide his shock for fear of hurting her feelings. Fox let her on the team without any Arwing training?

She interrupted his thoughts. "I'm a fast learner, if that's what you're wondering."

"What? No, no," Falco said, "I'm sorry. Look I just came to introduce myself. I'm never this considerate, so don't get used to it. But trust me, flying with Star Fox will be the best decision you'll ever make. I know I'd do it all over again if I had the chance."

Krystal smiled. "Thank you, Falco. I look forward to flying with you."

Falco smiled too. "Yeah, yeah whatever. Just get some sleep. You and Fox have a lot to do tomorrow. And don't expect me to be easy on you during simulations."

With that he left the room and followed to same path to his same bedroom and lay in the same bed. The only difference was that he swore he'd stick around longer this time.

How was it? Tell me what you think: Good or bad. I'm working on a longer story but I figured I could get this out there anyway. Thanks for reading!
