Title: Dancing With Him
Author: Tormented Shore
Rating: G
Disclaimer: I'm just a poor, pathetic, over-imaginative 15-year-old who owns absolutely nothing. sob
Dedicated: To Kat B, because I took her advice and used "…" at the end, instead of an exclamation point. So Kat, you rock!!
Author's Note: I changed the words a bit so the poem would flow more smoothly.
Oh my sweet Rose
I wish you could see
Who's standing before you
(That would be me)
I touch your face gently
You don't seem to notice
Perhaps you would feel
If I give you a kiss!
I kiss your lips gently
But you don't respond
I give a long sigh
I can't break this bond
There's a man at this party
Who seems to be nice
He's walking over…
Perhaps I should think twice!
I watch in horror
As he asks you to dance
I clench my fists tightly
And straighten my stance
The nerve of this guy!
(I'm starting to fume)
But then I remember
That I'll see you soon
In seventy eight years,
Three months, and six days
I'll see you again
And forever we'll stay
But for now I stand here
Tapping my foot
As you dance with him
Closer than you should…
Do you hear that? That's the sound of the little purple review button on the bottom-left-hand corner of your screen screaming, "Press me! Press me!
