I wrote this last year during History class. Just found it recently. I hope you like it.

It was a dark, stormy night, and Inuyasha and his friends were trying to keep dry in a cave. Inuyasha was in a terribly ghastly mood because tonight was the night of the new moon. This, of course, meant he was human.

After everyone else had gone to sleep, Inuyasha was still up muttering to himself. While brooding, he happened to look upon the sleeping form of Kagome lying next to him.

"Geez, she's beautiful when she sleeps", Inuyasha whispered to no one in particular. "And when she's not saying all those sit commands", he thought.

"Kind of makes you want to forget Lady Kikyo, huh?" Apparently the monk wasn't completely asleep.

Inuyasha glared at him. Without his demon strength, there wasn't much he could do to Miroku.

"You know," the lecherous monk ignored the deathly glare Inuyasha shot him, "It wouldn't kill you to tell Kagome how you feel."

"And what do you know about my feelings?!" Inuyasha shouted, obviously annoyed.

Miroku just smirked, turned over and went to sleep. He obviously thought he knew a great deal about the dog-demon's feelings.

Inuyasha let out an exasperated breath. "Stinkin' lecher, pretending he knows everything", Inuyasha thought.

The black haired boy looked again at Kagome. His breath shortened, and his heart beat rapidly. Leaning over, he stroked her hair, combing out a few tangles. Then he bent over, and kissed her on her lips. Kagome's eyelids fluttered, and then opened, her shock vivid.

"Shh", Inuyasha whispered soothingly. Remembering the monk's words, he whispered the three words that had been weighing on his heart. Mustering up all of his courage, he whispered into her ear. "I love you."

Before he had time to blush, Kagome reached up, and kissed him. He closed his eyes and kissed her back, letting his arms circle her small waist. When they broke their embrace, they were both flushed.

They both went back to their previous sleeping places, as if nothing had happened. Kagome went back to sleep, leaving Inuyasha to think about things. He had just closed his eyes, when he felt someone kiss his cheek.

"I love you, too", Kagome whispered.

Inuyasha opened his eyes just in time to see Kagome turn away from him in her sleeping bag. He looked over to Miroku and saw him smirk, and quickly close his eyes. Inuyasha didn't care. He was too happy to be upset by anything.
