In a far away place called Republic City lived many millions of... Cats. Yes, cats, and guess what, they could bend the elements.
My name is Watermist, as you can tell by my name I am a waterbender, I come from the Southern Water Clan and have come for business matters to Republic City. I grew up with other village cats like myself and was found a waterbender at 6 months after my birth. In my Clan we usually name cats with just one word but waterbender's names always start or end with water. It is a law for every cat in the world because that is how we know who is a bender and who is not. I also have a sister, but she is strange. She can bend water and fire. My parents contacted the White Lotus to see what it meant and they said it was probable that she was the avatar, as in, the master of all four elements. I was really sad to see her leave and now... They have told me she escaped to Republic City because she could not master the element of air, and yes, that is the business I have to get done. Since she was supposed to teach with Airwhisker, the only airbending master left and son of Airclaw, the previous avatar. I run quickly towards Air Temple Island in search of my sister and watrerbend creating a sorf of board to steer across the water. When I get to the island I see my sister, her brown fur wet and her blue eyes blazing with anger. She is standing in front of a light brown cat with long whiskers. That must be Airwhisker! I think to myslef.
"Avatar Waterlily" Airwhisker starts in a stern voice.
"Don't boss me!" My sister snapps angrily, growling in my direction. "Brother?" She looks surprised for a second but her look changes to happiness.
"Hello Avatar Waterlily, I am here to take you back to the White Lotus Compound" I state formaly, my whiskers twitching.
"What!?" She yowls. "No way!" She growls louder and jumps at me, claws out and I see a small flame strting to grow"
I see she still has her temper.. I think, quickly forming an ice barrier with a twich of my tail, Did I mention, I am one of the best waterbenders in the world? Well, I am.
"You're still better than me.." She mutters as I dogde at her attempt to squash me with a rock.
"Would I have angered you of I was not?" I retort, a smirk forming on my face.
"Shut up" She interferes, waterbending a sharp pice or ice my way.
"You still have to train..." I sigh. Suddenly she uses fire, earth and water at the same time. I gasp, I try to stop it with my waterbending but all three elements are shatteriing the ice field I have created. They at last manage to break the iciy walls and I shout. Something explodes and I fall into a pit of darkness, my last thoughts being... Am I dead?
