Hello everyone! So, this year, my school's musical is Legally Blonde. And I just had to write this. Enjoy! Also, I don't own the 'Bend and Snap' or "Legally Blonde".
"Elphie, now that we're friends, I've decided to make you my new project!" Galinda smiled, jumping onto the bed next to Elphaba.
"You really don't have to do that," Elphaba whispered.
"I know. That's what makes me so nice," Galinda smiled before she began to sing. "Whenever I see someone, less fortunate than I. And let's face it, who isn't, less fortunate than I? My tender heart tends to start to bleed."
Elphaba watched as Galinda continued her song. She didn't want a makeover. And why was Galinda singing?
"La! La! La! La!" Galinda sang, skipping around the room. "We're gonna make you pop-u-lar!"
"Galinda –" Elphaba said.
"First, hair," Galinda said, completely ignoring Elphaba. "This is how you toss your hair." Galinda took a deep breath before demonstrating. "Toss, toss!"
Elphaba looked at her before trying to copy her. "Toss, toss?"
"Toss, toss!"
"Toss, toss?"
"Toss, - you know what? This isn't working," Galinda said as she pulled out her training wand from under her pillow. "And now, I shall transform your simple frock into a beautiful ball gown. Ball gown!" Nothing happened. Galinda shook her wand a few times before trying again. "BALL GOWN!" Still nothing. "Is this thing on?" she asked, whacking the wand against her bed.
"Uh… do you want me to try?"
"Just wear the frock, it's pretty!" Galinda said, throwing the wand over her shoulder. Suddenly, a brilliant idea dawned on her. "Okay, Elphie. I'm going to show you a new move. It works 99.99% of the time."
"What about the other 0.01%?" Elphaba asked.
"I don't know. Don't interrupt! Now, it's called the 'Bend and Snap'. My mother taught this to me in junior high."
"The what?" Elphaba asked, raising her eyebrow.
"The Bend and Snap. Here's what you do," Galinda said as she walked over to the bed. "Oops, I dropped something on the floor that I need to pick up. So, you bend…" Galinda bent over. "And snap!" she snapped herself back up, bringing her by her underarms. "Now you try."
Elphaba slowly stood up.
"Bend," Galinda instructed. Elphaba bent over. "And snap!" Elphaba snapped back up.
"Um…" Galinda said, trying to phrase her comment in the nicest way possible. "A little less bend, a little more snap. Try it like this. Bend," Galinda bent over and Elphaba copied her. "And snap!"
"Bend… and snap! Bend… and snap!" Galinda said over and over again as she tried to teach Elphaba the move. She soon saw enough and stopped her. "Well… you'll practice."
"Will this even work?" Elphaba asked. "I mean… it's not like any boy has ever paid any attention to me before."
"Trust me, Elphie. It's fool-proof!" Galinda smiled.
"If you say so," Elphaba whispered, secretly doubting Galinda.
"Never underestimate my powers," Galinda smiled, tossing her blonde hair over her shoulder.
