A Nightmare to Remember
Chapter 1: The Weirdest Night
It was Louise's, Pika's and Lois's first night with the X-men. Earlier, they got a tour of the institute and were trapped in the Danger Room. Louise had the opportunity to sing something new, Lois started to become a chatterbox, and Pika is showing her sweet side of her personality. To make things a little weird, Louise accidentally trapped herself with Charles in the Cerebro. She did get a chance to escape, though. And to make things better, Lois learned how to throw a Frisbee. Louise started a Frisbee war between some of the students and everything got hectic!
Now, Louise shows some poetic side she has. She's been practicing a poem that she made about her family history. Lois stands in the doorway, listening.
"I am from the TV that used to be in my room, from favorite books and cartoons I draw. I am from weeds near the porch that look like faces of people. I am from the sweet-smelling roses in the backyard; the aloe vera near the plum tree, whose long gone limbs I remember as if they were my very own." Louise began.
"Wow," Lois whispers to herself as Louise continues, "I'm from having pets and brown eyes, from Vera and Alvaro. I'm from making up songs and embarrassing others, and from drinking coffee. I'm from (in Portuguese) "Meu Anjio", and "Penguin" and "Sorir um pouco". I'm from drinking tea together at the table. I'm from Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Cachorrerinha, Brazil, quesadillas and cha de po, from the horse my grandma burned, that kicked and thrashed about, pictures of my mom and aunts near my room and in my heart. I am from the times I want my dreams to come true, and from the days my thoughts come alive."
Lois found herself applauding aloud. A startled Louise goes to the doorway and finds Lois. "Were you eavesdropping, Lois?" Louise asks.
Lois stops applauding and sees Louise glaring at her. "Umm...no?" Lois replies in a weird way.
"Get in here! You know you're supposed to be asleep!" Louise shouts.
"You were practicing for the poetry club. I couldn't help to listen," Lois states.
"...You're kind of right. Sorry," Louise apologizes as Pika passes them.
"Pikapikapika (Logan says to go to sleep)," Pika says.
"Well, let's sleep, then," Louise said as they enter the room and climb into bed, "Night, sis. Night, Pika."
"Night, Louise. Night, Pika," Lois said.
"Pika (Night, Louise). Pika (Night, Lois)," Pika said and fell right to sleep.
Lois fell right to sleep, too. Louise decided to stay awake a while longer, but she fell right to sleep in exhaustion.
That's when Louise has a weird nightmare that is unlike any other one.
Louise is standing in the middle of nowhere. The devil suddenly appears behind her, which shocks her, and starts chasing her. She runs into a scene that showed her new friends, the X-men, in a cage shouting for help. Lois is in another room, inside a glass cage with Pika, both of them shouting for help. The devil, finally catching up to Louise, says, "Do you see your future now?"
Louise wakes up with a gasp, and is surprised to see the devil in front of her. "Do you see your future now?" he says, just like in the dream.
Louise sits on the bed, wide-eyed as the devil disappears. Then, she screams from the top of her lungs and faints.
