Thunderstorm

When a storm rages outside Beacon and Team RWBY's plans are ruined, Qrow decides to tell a story from his days at Beacon, But rather than starting a story from STRQ, he decides to tell the story of another team - team SLNC. A story of pain, friendship, loss, victory, and many different emotions follows. (Storytelling takes place between episode 3 and 4 of volume 3.)

As another bolt of lightning struck the ground and the rain continued to pour, Yang stuck her face in her pillow.

"I think it's safe to say we can't go see that Spruce Willis movie you were talking about," mumbled Ruby. Yang just gave a grunt in acknowledgement as she continued to sulk. Blake turned her eyes back to her book, and Weiss just looked annoyed.

"Well, you saw the weather report earlier. There was a 100% chance of rain!" Weiss exclaimed.

"But rain doesn't mean lightning, and I didn't expect the roads to be closed!" Ruby retorted, her pouting face changing into an innocent one.

"Even so, you should have prepared for the storm, you dunce! The news said it was the remnants of that hurricane!"

"Hey, I didn't see you doing anything!"

"That's because I was too busy trying to-"

"Trying to what, frosty?" Qrow had just entered the room. Due to the fact that the bars were closed from the storm, he decided to come here.

"Just…cleaning myself up," Weiss hurriedly explained. She punched Qrow's arm. "And I thought I told you to stop calling me Frosty!"

Qrow chuckled. "Hey, I wouldn't do it if it didn't bother you so much. So what's up with you girls? You seem… bored."

Blake finally looked up from her book with no apparent expression. "Ruby and Yang wanted to go fix the game system today, but the roads are closed." Qrow turned to the system, which had a suspicious looking shotgun hole through the center. He raised an eyebrow at Yang, who only answered with a shrug. Deciding not to ask, he turned to leave when Ruby interrupted him.

"Hey! Hey! Uncle Qrow! Tell us a story!" Ruby happily shouted. She looked so happy at the idea that Qrow couldn't help but oblige.

"…Alright. But if I'm going to tell a story, I'm going to need a drink. You people have any alcohol?"

Weiss, looking shocked, shouted, "We're not even 21 yet! How do you expect us to have alcohol!"

"Because you're college students," said Qrow, then muttering "…and I had some when I came here…"

After a short time away, during which he 'borrowed' some of Ozpin's alcohol, he gathered around team RWBY and began his story.
