Max sighed softly, laying down on the couch it was a warm summer day in Spoonervile but he didn't feel like going outside. His best friend P.J was out of town for the week, and he had no one to hang out with, poor Max always had trouble with making friends and he was feeling kinda lonely. He sighed grabbing the remote on the table, and started flipping through the channels.

Goofy came in and sat down next to the boy.

"Hiya Maxie" he greeted. "Whatcha doing inside on a day like this?"

Max didn't answer he kept flipping through channels trying to find something good to watch, but there was nothing on. He sighed and turned the TV off and set down the remote.

Goofy looked down at his 11 year old son, wondering why he looked so sad. "Maxie? Are you okay?" Goofy asked him, concern in his voice.

Max looked up at his father and half smiled, "oh it's nothing Dad, really I just don't feel like going outside is all" he said to him.

Goofy didn't buy it. "I've seen that look before Max," he said in a stern voice. "Come on you know you can tell me anything."

Max sighed softly, "I-I'm just.." he began, then he sighed. "I'm feeling a little lonely."

"Why's that?" Goofy asked him.

"I-I don't know Dad, It's just, P.J's out of town and I have no other friends to hang out with," Max said.

"Gawrsh, why not go find some new friends?" Goofy asked.

"Dad really?" Max replied. "To everyone in the school, I'm nothing but a goof-ball, I'm the useless screw-up who can't do anything right! No one would ever want to be my friend."

Goofy pulled the young boy into his arms, and hugged him. "Max" he said. "You're not useless, you're a good kid, those other kids are probably just jelous because they're not special like you."

Max sighed, "I'm not special" he said softly, looking down, Goofy put a finger under his chin and lifted it causing Max to look at him.

"You're special to me," Goofy said gently. "You always will be."

Max half smiled at his Dad, "Thanks" he said softly.

But Max still felt lonely, even after what Goofy had just told him, so he did the thing that every father does to make their child feel better.

He began tickling the boy on his stomach, the place where he was ticklish the most.

"Ahh!" Max yelped. "D-Dad s-stop please! No tickling! Hahahahahahahahahaaaaa!"

Goofy stopped tickling and pulled him into a head-lock and gave him a noogie.

"Wait no!" Max cried. "Oh no! Not that Dad, come on!"

Max squirmed trying to get out of his fathers grasp, finally Goofy stopped. Max giggled and hugged his Dad of course no longer feeling lonely.

"Thanks Dad" he said to him "I needed that."

Goofy smiled and ruffled Max's hair. "Anytime kiddo" he replied.

Max smiled and hugged him again.

"Um hey Dad?" Max said.

"Yeah son?" Goofy replied.

"You wanna go play some ball?" Max asked him.

Goofy smiled "sure maxie, sounds fun," he replied. "Maybe we can go for ice cream afterwords."

Max smiled, "That would be awesome!" he said happily.

Goofy smiled back "Ahyuck!" he laughed, and the two headed outside happily.

Max could always count on his Dad to make him happy again, even if he was a little goofy, but Max could never have asked for a better Dad, because the one he had now was perfect.
