D's Petshop is never silent. No matter what time of the day Leon drops by, there is always noises, whether they be the calls of the animals, the swish of silk on silk as D prepares tea, or just a mellow, soothing hum that the blond sometimes thinks is from the incense, as unlikely as it seems.

D's home is never silent.

Which is why Leon knows that the empty, dark, and utterly silent shop now is no longer D's home. It is the silence that makes him understand that D will never return.
