Blue bird

Blue bird

Eyes as blue as the summer sky,

Hair as soft as silk.

Watching the sun glide on by,

Upon a lonely hill.

She wished for nothing more than to,

Fly away, escape.

Robes the scent of flow'rs in bloom,

As she cast away her cape.

She spread her arms and ran on down,

Off and away,

She knew not where she was bound,

But for the dawn of the day.

He watched her go, without remorse,

Hair blond and windswept.

He knew he couldn't offer more,

But for her heart he kept.

He wished for nothing more than to,

Fly with her, away,

And drown in eyes cerulean blue,

And to her voice, awake.

But he had his duties, and she was free,

So he sighed and prayed for her.

Please Mia, remember me,

For she was his blue bird.
