Kagome ran out of the hut in fear. She was only going to visit Inuyasha, but instead found Kikyo standing guard.

"You've come," Kikyo said. "Why? Can't you see Inuyasha doesn't need you here? It's hopeless! Go back to your time, new timer." Kikyo's eyes suddenly turned red and her blue souls ran after Kagome. Kagome turned and ran out of the village.

I can't get anywhere! Kagome continued to run through the forest, Kikyo right behind her. Kikyo suddenly had sharp fangs and bulging red eyes. Her skin turned dark brown. Now Kikyo was unrecognizable. She wasn't Kikyo anymore, but a demon.

Kagome ran and tripped on a tree's root. Fear washed over her when she realized that Kikyo was closing in. "Now die!" Kikyo snarled, her voice was unrecognizable and it echoed in the forest. Kikyo raised a dark claw and aimed strait at Kagome.

Kagome sat up, panting hard. It was just a dream. She looked around. She remembered Shippo and Kaede had gone out to find water again. Sango and Miroku were probably outside taking the air. Kagome fell asleep earlier than the others, but Inuyasha seemed to have fallen asleep a little after Kagome.

She looked at the sleeping Inuyasha on the far corner. Kagome curled up again, but she suddenly couldn't fall asleep again. Kikyo's face and words echoed in her mind. You don't belong here! She sighed and closed her eyes.

A few hours seemed to pass, but Kagome still couldn't fall asleep. She stood up and got on her way to the dark night. Just before she could reach the door, Inuyasha's voice filled her ears. "Where are you going at this time of night?" he growled.

Kagome turned. She saw Inuyasha glaring at her. "I can't sleep," she said. "I don't know what to do." Before she could say anything else, she felt a warm tear fall down her cheek. Stress had overcome her. She couldn't fall asleep, the nightmare still teased her, and she almost lost her friends earlier in the day. She had a lot on her shoulders, and she couldn't do anything about it.

"Now why are you crying?" Inuyasha said. His expression was confused, as if he had done something wrong, but didn't know what.

"I'm sorry," Kagome said, shaking her head. "I had the worst nightmare in my life. I can't sleep because of that." She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. Inuyasha looked sideways.

"It's all okay," he said awkwardly. "It's over now. Nothing can hurt you now." Inuyasha couldn't get his awkward look off his face.

"May I sit with you for a while?" Kagome asked. Inuyasha nodded and shifted slightly to make room for her. Kagome sat next to him. "Thank you," she said quietly.

"I suppose you don't want to talk about it," Inuyasha said. Kagome shook her head. "It's a good night, isn't it?" she said, trying to change the subject.

"I guess," Inuyasha said. "if you like grasshopper noises." He stared out into the window. Suddenly, he felt Kagome's head rest against his shoulders. She began to let out soft snores. She's asleep. He began to stand up softly and began to lay Kagome on her bed. Just as he was about to go back onto his post, he heared Kagome's voice. "Good night, Inuyasha." Her voice trailed off and was replaced by snores again.

He smiled softly. "Good night Kagome," he whispered.
