It was another day of Serena's performing, only this time she hadn't one. She was great, along with her Braixen, Pancham and Eevee, but they were not as good as this Jessilee character. The four friends were now sleeping in the Pokémon Center. Pikachu woke up wanting some fresh air. He went out of the door to Couriway's Pokémon Center to see Eevee sitting by some trees. Pikachu decided to follow.
Eevee was looking down into some water, and was surprised to see a Pikachu's reflection appear. Eevee wasn't startled like she probably would have been in the past. She had become much more friendly with the Pokémon in the group (except Chespin, who was still hyper). In Pokémon speak, he said, "Hey, Eevee. What are you doing here." "Oh, just needed some time to think. I'm not sure if I'm meant for helping Serena. I wonder if she lost because of me." Everyone cheered Eevee up earlier, but she still had some doubts. Pikachu noticed two berries hanging from a branch and used an electro ball to knock them down. He handed one to Eevee, "Want to talk about it?" Eevee started munching on her berry.
Pikachu started, "Now I don't know the first thing about performing, but I do know that you are superb. Remember the performance in Anistar City? Serena, Braixen and Pancham used a dance performance based on YOUR moves. I don't think they would have one that performance if it weren't for you." Eevee started perking up. Pikachu continued, "So you got shy and lost your balance today. Big deal. There's always the future. I know that you and Serena will be awesome." Eevee felt happy, but then she asked, "What if I ever feel like this again?"
He answered, "That's one of the best things about friends. They don't hold you back. They push you forward. If you ever doubt yourself, we'll all help you perk right back up. Remember: Never give up until it's over. If you're knocked down, you can get up stronger. If they cut you short, you can come back longer." The two sat by the water. Pikachu suddenly felt Eevee's tail around him pulling him into a hug. She then gave a little peck on the cheek. Pikachu's face became as red as his favorite ketchup. Eevee said, "Thank you Pikachu." "No problem, Eevee. Let's get back to the Pokémon center so nobody will worry about us."
On the way, Eevee thought, If Pokémon are just like their trainers, I can see why Serena likes Ash so much.
