Prologue

"Get off of me, now." I said, calmly.

"Now, this will only take a moment, pretty girl." He said, running his fingers through my thick, shiny black hair. He was gripping my torso a little too tightly, leaning in a little too close. He was a disgusting creature. A level E.

I felt his dry tongue run over my pale neck. This had gone too far. He'd had his fun. I grabbed his unruly hand, gripping it tight.

"You don't seem to understand what is about to happen to you, girl." He said, the look in his corrupted eyes not the slightest bit sane.

"No, I don't think you understand." I replied, pulling on his wrist hard enough to rip his arm off, in one swift movement. He cried out, as his blood spurted everywhere. Damn. My shirt was ruined, now. What a pity. I pulled the bloody rose out of my pocket and shot him in the heart. Dust littered the wooden floor boards.

It was time to get the hell out of here before the vampire hunters realize someone has been here. I can't risk the chance of anybody finding out I exist. The consequences to that action would be dire, and would most certainly lead to my death.
