Bella finds out that Alice's birthday is today. While thinking of the perfect gift for her, she contemplates their friendship.

What to give an ultra-rich vampire pixie? A question that had driven me crazy for the last 5 hours.

Personally I wasn't the kind of person that would do something extravagant for birthdays but Alice liked doing things that way.

Maybe that was why we've become such great friends. They say, in friendships, there are two kind of people. Type A and type B. You've got A-A friendships, B-B friendships and A-B friendships.

Alice and I fit in the last category. We completed each others personalities. She was more outgoing while I was the shy one. What one missed the other had plenty.

That's what I really loved the most about her. Back in Phoenix, never had I met someone who was exactly on the same page with me. Now Alice just needed one look and she knew exactly what I meant (much to Edward's chagrin since he still couldn't figure out all my facial expressions, but we explained that it was a girl thing) without saying anything.

I also knew that whatever I told her, she would take seriously and keep it a secret if I asked her. Instead of gossiping like some *cough* Jessica *cough* Lauren *cough*. She was someone that understood me best besides Edward and we both weren't afraid to voice our opinions even if we disagreed. We barely had fights and if we had them, we wouldn't talk to each other for a few days before everything was back to normal. Mostly it was something minor that we disagreed about.

I knew and she knew we would both stay loyal to each other. She was my shoulder to cry on, and she could always come to me in times of distress. When one of us did something stupid the other was the voice of reason. I really really loved her.

Best friends forever.

Someone knocked on the front door. Damn, I seriously hoped that wasn't Alice because I hadn't thought of anything yet.

There she was, spiky-haired, tiny and with the latest fashion. My dearest friend: Alice. The only thing that was out of place was her expression. She wasn't her usual bubbly self.

Sniffling and sobbing she threw her arms around me, careful not to crush me though, she cried/yelled:

"I love you too Bella Swan and we'll stay friends forever and ever and ever and ever and ever! Even if volcanoes or tsunamis or earthquakes drove us apart I would still be your Best Friend!"

Quickly I led her inside and closed the door (very difficult with a yelling, sobbing vampire who had her arms around me) before neighbors came outside to see the cause of the tumult.

When she had finally calmed down we were both seated on the couch with our arms around each other. I had to hold in my laughter, this kind of situation was so Alice.

All of the sudden, an idea struck me. Inwardly I sighed.

"You want to go shopping?"

She didn't say a thing. Instead she took my hand and let me to her Porsche with a face that was deciding whether or not to cry from happiness.

It wasn´t very depthful but it wasn´t supposed to be. Just some happy time between my favorite fictional bff´s.

I made this for my special Bff, Nicole. It´s her birthday today and it got me thinking about our friendship and how lucky I am to have met her.

Hartelijk gefeliciteerd Nicole, de meerderheid van deze dingen gingen over jou,

love you

Amber

(Ps: Familie zegt ook gefeliciteerd.)
