Shinobi Turmoil

A young Academy Student trains alone, on the outskirts of the Leaf village he has loved for his entire life.
His name is Toshiro Yoshiaki, and he is currently 8 years old, and nearing the end of his Academy days. "Bunshin no Jutsu!"
He cries out, molding his Chakra and performing the last required handseal. Two clones appear at his sides, of course these are fake, but even then he wants to get better at using anything that could protect himself and his squad during combat.
"Hey, Big Brother. Why aren't you enjoying life? That's what Spring is all about, you know!" his younger brother, Kazuto had been watching his training almost every day. Of course, Kazuto doesn't know much about Ninjutsu like Toshiro, as it is his first year at the Academy.
"Look, Kazuto... If you stop bugging me during my training, I'll teach you a Ninjutsu technique to show your little friends, alright?" "Okay Big Brother!" Was Kazuto's immediate response. "Alright, now you want to listen closely.. Do the Rabbit sign, while pulling Chakra out of your hands, and make it into sort of your shape outside of you. Then, say the Vocal Incantation and it'll finish forming." Kazuto immediately started to put his hands together, molding Chakra. "Bunshin no Jutsu!"
He exclaimed, ready to finish the Jutsu. The only thing is... His clone fell lifeless, to the ground. "Why didn't it work,
Big Brother?" "You probably didn't put enough Chakra in it, if you go practice somewhere you should be able to get better at it."
"Wow Big Brother, you're the best!" Kazuto exclaimed. "Anything to get you out of my hair." Toshiro smiled back while waving his brother away from his training spot.
"Now my real training can begin." Toshiro mused to himself. He walked towards the small pond under the Cherry Blossom tree, controlling his Chakra and placing it into his feet. "Let's see, if I put too much I'll start running out, but if I don't put enough I'll fall in.." Toshiro walked onto the water's surface, standing across it a bit too shakily, and then taking small steps across it. The feeling was unreal, and completely unheard of to him. It was brilliant, until fatigue started to set in, and he walked back onto the ground.
Those certainly had been the Golden Days, just sitting there, getting to prepare all day and get better. Toshiro hadn't seen true battle, nor had he seen death, much less stared it in the face. He chuckled, looking at the wound gaping in the right half of his chest. He only wished that the rest of the men and women on this god-forsaken mission had time to reminisce before their deaths. He thought back to his Academy days once more, how he'd had a crush on that girl in his class. What was her name again? He didn't have time to think about it before he blacked out. Regardless, everything had gone wrong for the mission to retrieve the Nine-Tailed Beast from the Akatsuki. He awoke, in the Hospital, bandaged with his armor laying on a nightstand beside him.
"What the hell? I should be dead right now.." "You were retrieved by Lord Ninth." "What? What happened to Lord Eighth?"
"He's... Dead." The Nurse responded, looking away from Toshiro. "LORD EIGHTH IS DEAD?!" Toshiro responded, outraged at the thought.
"Don't shout please, your wounds might open up." "Alright, I'm sorry but did Krissia make it out of the mission alive?"
"Yes, she's alive. Your brother, Kazuto... He sacrificed himself for her." "Why? Why him? He was only a child!" Toshiro couldn't control it anymore, tears came to his eyes as he thought of his little brother's body, devoid of all life.
