Jecht rubbed his chin thoughtfully at the pink haired soldier that stood before him. She was stiff, immovable. Had he not seen it for himself, he wouldn't think her capable of moving around in battle that way that she did. It was as if she were liquid silver flowing around, only taking time to harden again when she struck her blows. Then again, maybe she wasn't. Jecht wasn't one that was particularly good with his words.

He sauntered up to Light, fearing that she wouldn't be able to extricate the proverbial stick from her ass without his help. He respected her, but that didn't mean he liked her all that much. She really needed to lighten up.

"Have you ever even kissed anyone, girly?"

Jecht knew for a fact that Bartz, the little runt that he was, would have gladly payed any price to see the look on her face just then. Perhaps she was trying to figure out the train of thought that had led Jecht to such a question.

"Excuse me?" Her tone was flat out dangerous. Her hips twitched just a bit, and she was probably ready to unsheathe that funky weapon of hers. He'd seen it plenty of times, though. He knew how to buy himself time if a few bullets happened to be fired in the general direction of his skull.

"You're too stiff! Reminds me of someone I used to know."

Of course, there was no way he was about to dive into that story. It was way too convoluted for its own good. Oh well, he'd taught Auron to smile a bit, he could teach this girl how to live up to her nickname. He'd never thought it would be so hard to convince a young person to be cheery, but maybe that meant Jecht was just too used to raising his own.

"You're young! Act like it for a change."

She was deep in thought, or she seemed to be, at least. Jecht walked away, knowing full well that his words alone wouldn't do much to alleviate her stress. In his expert opinion, she needed just a bit more time with people that weren't so damned broody, but he had others to fix. He was going to pay that "lion" a visit next.

"Jecht!"

He tensed up, wondering exactly which way she had decided to slash/shoot/maim him. It wasn't what he expected, but he felt her fist in his back. It wasn't a full on punch, more like a push or a nudge. She pressed a bit more firmly, and he could feel each one of her knuckles against the small of his back.

"You remind me of someone too."

Jecht let out a loud, booming laugh that only he could produce. Lightning smirked a little too. It was then that a pair of manikins decided to make their appearance. They were no doubt alerted due to Jecht's inability to keep quiet. Lightning pulled out her gunblade in one swift motion, and Jecht dragged his sword out as well.

"Could be interesting," Lightning commented, the smile still evident on her lips.

"You and I fight next, girly. That will be interesting. Got it?" Jecht replied as the enemies drew near.

"If you can keep up," she retorted, "And I'm not girly."

"That's for damn sure," he laughed as he sliced into the false skull of one of the manikins. "You never answered my question, Light."

"...If you win, I'll tell you."

Promises made. Manikins destroyed. Friendship formed.

All in a day's work for the all-mighty Jecht.
