Title: The White Comet
Summary: The Comet's one more run. ONESHOT. Before any of my Initial D stories. Featuring Takahashi Ryosuke!
Disclaimer: Do not own Initial D in any way, this story is purely mine.
Harsh winds blew at the peak of the infamous Mount Akagi, one the most famous mountains situated in all of Japan, sitting in Maebashi. One man stood over the peak and watched cars racing through the pass with a cigarette burning in his mouth, taking an occasional drag every once in awhile.
He took one lasting look at the yellow 3rd Generation Mazda racer and the ancient panda Trueno Toyota pass one another in the middle of the pass while taking the last drag of his smoke before tossing it to the tar ground and extinguish it with his foot, all the while gracefully slipping in the older 2nd Generation Mazda.
Slipping in the key, all it took was a turn in the ignition and the 13B-T engine caught, bringing the legend to life as meters shot up and down, back to the 0.5rpm mark. Closing the door shut and putting on the racing harness that came with the bucket racing seats.
The engine rev up once warming it up quickly and once more to calm the racer in him down from the adrenaline, any lucky person in the gallery of the mountain that night were in for one shot they may never forget. Because for this night, the infamous White FC3S RX-7 was gonna run down the mountain after a years absents from the very same mountain which it was so famous on, the one mountain that earn him the White Comet moniker.
Right before anyone could take notice of it. It shot pass the Yellow FD, that was ending its uphill climb and proceeded down the mountain. The first slight curve came as blow off valves rand when the car shifted up, air slam into the engine through the Supercharger that was installed months ago when he had to prepared for an inevitable race with an old acquaintance back at Mount Hakone, the Shinigami himself.
The entry speed of the FC shot pass 145kmph when he entered the first hairpin. A smooth downshift and braking at the perfect braking point send the car flying through the entrance at nearly 45degrees with the throttle under full control with the most delicate feathering of it. Allowing the car to catch grip and straighten out at the end.
Shifting up to fourth send the car racing down the straight like a tiger targeting its prey. The next hairpin before a quick series of switchbacks came into view, with a quick dump of the clutch, the car was send flying once more into the corner. RPMs shooting through the roof as the throttle control of the White Comet kept the rev at its torque band, holding the drift. All the while as graceful as an Eagle and as aggressive as a Tiger.
That is what used to describe the driving of the Infamous White Comet as it cleared the switchbacks in a matter of seconds. The rhythm of the engine dancing up and down all the while through the corners as Takahshi Ryosuke send the car flying with his hands moving at the blink of an eye. At speeds that only the best can follow and achieve. His racing style has not only send amazement to the crowd but to his own teammates and school mates.
A style that mixes enough drift and grip to attain the fastest line. His fastest theory, a theory that plays along with the emotional state of a racer and his or her bond and understanding of their cars. That is the Ryosuke strategy that went on to beat the Zero theory.
Takahashi Ryosuke may be the at the peak of his skills and talent but the help and knowledge he can share will just keep going on. Not as a racer but a mentor, manager, doctor and strategist. That is who the White Comet really is, Takahashi Ryosuke.
