BOOM.
Archangel winced as a fresh body dropped to the floor and the rifle kicked back, his shoulder was killing him. How many mercs had he taken out? One, two, three…ten…fifty…a hundred? No, it would have to be over a hundred by now.
Shit. He couldn't keep count anymore. He was even unsure of how long he had been holed up here, he had lost track of what day it was and it didn't help he was running out of supplies and he could hear a merc taking a blow torch to the door.
There was no way he was making it out of here alive. He knew that there was no way out of this…still, he couldn't help but think of all the ways he was going to take revenge on Sidonis. The tortures he wanted to put him through. The pain he wanted the turian to feel. I need to even get out alive first he thought as he peered through the scope of his sniper rifle. His mandibles twitched as lined up his shot, his claw itching as he started to squeeze the trigger.
He fired, wincing once again. "Fuck," he shook his head as his shot had just barley missed a Krogan merc.
He was starting to get sloppy, and it wouldn't be too long before that merc bastard at the door got through. It wouldn't be long until he was dead. A low growl rumbled in his throat as he peered back into the scope, only to see a ghost.
No way. It couldn't be… He checked his scope again; he had been awake for days. He could be imaging things. Things he wished were real at this moment. He loaded a concussive round into his rifle and fired it at her. She stumbled back for a moment, touching where she had been hit and looked up at him, her eyes cold, focused and determined. It was definitely her. He chuckled, even death couldn't hold someone her, could it? "Let's give these guys a surprise of our own." She said to her new companions.
He zoomed in on them momentarily. Cerberus operatives. This was an interesting turn of events to find that Shepard was working with Cerberus, but he knew it was for a good reason. If it was Shepard, it would be for a good reason.
Now, if only she would get her ass moving to tell him that reason or else he wouldn't be alive much longer to hear it. He fired another concussive round at her, this one seemed to do the trick as she turned on the other mercs, swiftly taking them out easily as she passed under the bridge. He heard shots being fired outside of the door, he heard the blow torch stop and the door open. He didn't bother turning around to check who it was. He knew who had won that fight.
"Archangel?" Shepard asked as she stepped into the room.
He held up a finger as he peered back into the scope, lining up his shot. He held his breath as he squeezed the trigger and fired off another shot, another merc body hitting the floor. He stood up, walking over to her, setting his rife on the table next to him as he sat down, removing his helmet.
He smirked as he watched Shepard's eyes widen in surprise, an expression that you rarely saw from her.
"Shepard." Garrus purred.
