AU of The Titan's Curse
Thalia never thought she would ever want to do that. She had thought that he had been someone she trusted. But Annabeth wouldn't lie about him. Thalia remembered Annabeth's eyes flitting from one side to another, not wanting to tell her the truth. Not wanting to tell her is was him who had done it.
The wind lashed at her face like whips, stinging her dry skin. Thalia saw Annabeth for a moment, just a moment, before rage took over her body.
She wanted revenge. She wanted him to feel the pain she had felt. Thalia's trained on him. Adredaline rushed through her veins. Her strength fueled by anger.
Thalia charged. The sound of weapons clashing rang through the air. He was all she could see. The lying jerk who had betrayed them all. Thalia rammed at him with all her might, stunning him. But right after he recovered, his mouth spread into a smirk.
Thalia ignored how much she'd missed seeing that smile. Shoved the fact that they were once friends to the back of her mind. He was just the enemy. Just someone that didn't matter to her. Some to kill.
Thalia disarmed him. His sword flew through the air and landed meters away. And there he was, all covered in blood and inches from falling to his death. He grinned at her.
Then Thalia's anger disappeared. Some part of her knew she couldn't trust that smile, but the other part wanted to see it over and over. His blue eyes seemed honest. So very honest.
It happened in a split second. Aegis clattered on the ground. Her hand loosed around her spear.
And then she saw it. The sudden malice in his eyes.
Too late.
She screamed in pain as her own spear was thrust into her body. Burning white hot pain. Thalia collapsed to the ground, aware that the weapon had left her body. And for one tiny moment, she saw regret in his eyes.
Black. Deep, dark, Black.
I'm sorry. I could have saved you. I could have stopped you. I was too late. Far too late.
