General pov
I remember every piece of me
Everything was perfect and complete
So I'm gonna take it
One day at a time
One day at a time
As the girl finishes the last note, the DJ already starts clapping. "Congratulations! Our judge has decided that your version of one day at a time is the best! Are you ready to hear what your prize is?" "Yeah, let's hear it old man.", she answers making the DJ laugh. "Eddie, I like this kid." "Yeah, me too.", Eddie responds while he lets out a chuckle. As Eddie makes a remark about the DJ indeed being old, the girl scrapes her throat. "Guys? I'm still waiting to hear what my prize is." "Right. First, could you text us our address so that we know where to deliver your prize?" "Yeah, sure." After she has texted the address, the DJ speaks up again. "Well, ready to hear your prize then?" "How more often are you going to ask me that?" "Ooh, a feisty one.", the DJ says while chuckling. "Well, our judge was the one and only EDDIE DURAN! And you have won four tickets for front row seats at his concert this weekend! That's not all. Eddie Duran is going to personally deliver the tickets at your house and after the concert, you and your friends or family are going to hang out with him!" "That's what you call an amazing prize?", she responds. "What do you mean? I would say that this is a pretty amazing prize.", the DJ asks confused. "Going to see a douchebag sing isn't what I would call an amazing prize.", she answers. "Whoa, what do you mean douchebag?", Eddie then asks. "I would prefer not to talk to you, Eddie Duran." And then she hangs up the phone. "Lily is going to kill me.", she whispers to herself.
Eddie's pov
I sit down on the couch as soon as I'm home from the radio station. I'm still confused by what happened. Of course there must be people who don't like my music or don't like the way I act. But this girl really had it out for me. Like I offended her personally. But that can't be because I would remember. I decide to call pops so that I can talk to him about it. Maybe he'll know what to do. Because the fact is that this girl has won the prize. Should I just not give it to her? "Hi Eddie. Let me guess, you want me to come over and talk?" "That would be great actually. How did you know?", I answer suprised. "I heard you on the radio. That girl really doesn't like you." I groan, "I know." "I'll be there in ten minutes.", he states. "Thanks dad."
As I'm waiting for pops, Ian walks in. I stand up to give him a hug as he greets me, "Hey mate!" "Hey, what are you doing here?", I ask as I pull back. "You've got your own appartment now, remember?", I add. "So I can't visit my mate anymore?" "Of course you can. So what's up?" "I heard you on the radio man." I sigh as I sit down, "Yeah, I think everybody heard." "What did you do to that girl?!", Ian exclaims." "Nothing! I don't even know her!" That's when pops walks in. He pats my back and then sits down. "Hey son." "Hey dad." "So, what are you going to do about the prize?", Ian asks. I sigh again, "I have no idea." "Well, I think you should give it to her just to keep your word.", pops says. "I think you should do it too. Maybe you'll find out why she hates you so much.", Ian agrees. "I'll think about it.", I say hestitantly.
Amy's pov
The phone call is now about ten minutes ago and just like I expected, Lily storms through the door. "Hi Lily.", I say in my sweetest voice. "Don't 'hi Lily' me! Why would you do that?" "What do you mean?", I ask pretending not to know what she's talking about. "Amy, don't play games with me. You know that I'm deadly serious when it's about Eddie Duran." I sigh, "I know. What do you want to know?" "Well, first of all..", she starts in a serious tone. Then she starts squealing, "You were great!" "Thank you!", I squeal. But then Lily is serious again. "I don't get it though. Why don't you like Eddie?" I sigh, "I'm sorry Lily. I can't tell you." Lily's expression shows hurt. "Why not? You know that you can trust me with anything?" I sigh again, "I know." I consider it for a few seconds. Then say, "Okay. I'll tell you but you can't tell anyone."
Loren's pov
I'm shopping with Melissa and she's talking my ears off. I'm not really listening. She's talking about Ian. As soon as she mentioned the name Ian, my mind went to Eddie. I wish I would never have to think about him again. Our relationship was so perfect but he just had to blew it. He ripped my heart into a million little pieces. And I don't know if it's ever going to heal again. Everyone warned me about me being just a rebound. I didn't listen but they were right. Man, they were right. I'm so stupid. "So, I haven't seen Ian and years and I'm still thinking about him." Melissa now notices that I'm not paying attention, "And I kissed a cat." "Uhu, that's great.", I respond. "Lo?", Melissa says trying to get my attention but I don't hear her. "LOREN!", she yells. "Yes! Melissa! Why are we yelling?!" "Because you didn't hear me." "I'm sorry Mel. What were you saying?" "I was talking about Ian. I'm still thinking about him." "But you haven't seen him in years!", I exclaim shocked. "Yeah, but your haven't seen Eddie in years either and you are still thinking about him too." I sigh, "I don't think about Eddie anymore Mel. You know that." She gives me a look. "Lo, it's me you're talking to remember?" "Okay, you're right. I still think about Eddie and I still have feelings for him but I don't want to. I don't want to think about him and I sure as hell don't want to care about him.", I say all in one breath. A smirk appears on Melissa's face. That's usually bad news for me. "What you need is a date. And I know exactly the right person for it. Come on, we're going to get you a dress that will blow his mind." Her face is beaming with excitement by now. I sigh, "Mel, I really don't feel like it." Melissa grabs my hand and starts pulling me, "Yeah but you have no choice."
