Summary of story: This first story in the "series" is REAL, as it happened to me not too long ago. I live in an old house that is apparently haunted so I believe in the afterlife coming back. Especially to kill.
Enjoy.
It was late on a Saturday afternoon, around 11:00. I am a big user of my laptop and I am constantly downloading things to play and watch. The day before I was told by my friend to download a new indie game entitled 'Blood'. I thought to myself "That sounds bland" but I decided to go ahead and download it to see if it was any good.
When I got home that evening, I went onto Skype and asked my friend for the link to the site. Here is a small transcript of out Skype conversation:
Me: "Hey D, can I have the link for that game you were on about?"
D: "Um, I'm not sure that's a good idea"
Me: "Why?"
D: "The website has been modified and now says on the main page "BLOOD IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING MAINTENANCE"
Me: "But is it still playable?"
D: "I think so, just offline"
I thought to myself "It has an online mode? Awesome!"
Me: "Link me it anyway"
So he linked the site address and, sure enough, when I opened the page, it said "BLOOD IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING MAINTENANCE"
I clicked the download button and it began with all the usual crap, like Run or Save, then install wizard and all that jazz, once it downloaded I played the game, it was alright I guess, just an average 32 bit platform puzzle game where you play as a little man with a gun and when you shoot enemies they bleed 8 bit blood. It was very badly put together but it was fun nonetheless.
The next day I woke up around 7:30, had breakfast then went onto my laptop. I clicked on the game, hoping the maintenance had finished. It had. Finally I could play Online mode, except there wasn't one.
"Damn it" I said softly as I clicked on 'Continue'. The game started up and was the same, shitty game I was playing yesterday. After about half an hour playing I got bored and clicked off the game, I went back to the desktop and was about to click 'shut down' when I noticed a .txt document had been added to my desktop. it was called " ". I thought it was a manual as to how to play so I clicked on it.
I wish I hadn't.
When I clicked on the file. It opened in Microsoft Word, as you would think. But what I saw was not what I expected. This is what I saw:
9 11-9-12-12-5-4 8-9-13 12-1-19-20 14-9-7-8-20 9-20 23-1-19 19-23-5-5-20 9 3-21-20 8-9-13 15-16-5-14 1-19 8-5 19-3-18-5-1-13-5-4 9 13-21-6-6-12-5-4 8-9-19 19-15-21-14-4 2-25 19-8-15-22-9-14-7 1 13-21-20-9-12-1-20-5-4 8-1-14-4 6-18-15-13 20-8-5 12-1-19-20 22-9-3-20-9-13 9-14-20-15 8-9-19 13-15-21-20-8 19-15 7-12-15-18-9-15-21-19 1-14-4 19-1-20-9-19-6-25-9-14-7
It was clearly a number alphabet. I copied and pasted the code onto a converter and I recoiled in shock as I saw what it read. You can do it yourself if you want to see what it says.
I didn't want to look on, but I had too. There were pictures of a corpse, stomach cut open upon a table and a bloody butchers knife it was horrible. I immediately uninstalled the game and deleted the .txt file and went onto their website and went to the 'contact us' tab and rang them. A man answered, he sounded around 23 and had a low pitch and bored tone. I asked him about that game and he told me he created it and if it was any good. I told him about ' '. He went silent and then the phone cut out. I never heard from the guy again and he shut down the site about an hour after I called.
I hope you enjoyed my little slice of horror.
Remember, this actually happened to me, I'll never forget.
Thank you for reading. More to come soon.
