This isn't one of those stories that you're gonna expect to start with 'once upon a time' or 'long ago'…no, this story is going to take you back in time. Back to an era were a man's word was final and women…well, lets just say that their voice couldn't be heard and shouldn't be heard.

In 1866, a young woman called Claudia Ashdown gave birth to a beautiful daughter called Alexandra. Boring huh? Well, Claudia's husband was Lord Antony Ashdown, Lord of London and a close right-hand to Queen Victoria of England. As I said before, this was a time when it was a man's world and this was also an era were women wanted to be heard and not just be seen. That comes in a little later in history though. When Alexandra was born, Lord Ashdown had an important choice to make between his title or his daughter's dignity.

Lady Ashdown was in a serious and life threatening carriage crash in the English countryside. It caused her to loose some of her internal organs a few months after Alexandra was born. This meant that couldn't produce another child, male or female. And so Lord Ashdown made a choice for his daughter's life, that she would become Alexander. Alexandra was taught how to speak, act, sound like a lord to one day take over her father's position as a lord of England. But what happens when Alexandra wants to be a girl for once in her life and goes out in a dress and no wig?

A war's about to begin in the Black Rose Inn where Alexandra's curiosity led her. This was is between the humans and the paranormal. In history when witch craft and demons were seen to be everywhere in every shape and form, everyone was suspicious. The Black Rose Inn is the paranormal's sanctuary and where cups fly and you're served by a talking dog and play card games with a demon. So there's a few questions to ask you all at home…
