When James had said that he always had wanted to see a nuclear reactor, he didn't mean it. His mom, a high-ranking government official, had called in a few favors, and had gotten a tour of S.T.A.R. Labs for James and his friend, Kara. So, here he was, right in front of a nuclear reactor. Just when they were leaving, alarms started to blare. "Get your protective suits on!" yelled the scientist who was leading the tour. "What's going on" yelled James. His mom promptly told him, "The reactor is leaking." As they scrambled to get their suits on, James zipper got stuck. He yelled, "I can't zip up my suit! It's stuck." Just then, the reactor blew up. Everything became black.
When he awoke, he found that he was in the ICU of the hospital where his dad worked. As his vision cleared, he noticed that all of the people in the room had on suits like the ones at S.T.A.R Labs. He finally found his voice, "What happened?" The head doctor, Doctor Maria told him that he had been caught in the blast from the reactor, and was likely going to die from radiation poisoning. He promptly fainted. When he woke back up, he noticed that he was on a table, and x-rays were being taken of his whole body. He then saw the nurse come back into the room, and hand Doctor Maria the results. He pretended to be asleep. "Well," the nurse said, "His bones are covered by lead. The x-rays couldn't even get to the bones. How is this possible?" "The radiation must have mutated him, and given him the ability to protect his body from harmful substances." said Doctor Maria. He was then wheeled back into the ICU, where he was "woken up," and told that he had lead covering his bones, and was now free to go, because he showed no sign of radiation.
